Hi Friends, Today while doing some work, I cut a folder in order to paste it somewhere else. But after I cut it, my system unexpectedly shut down before pasted somewhere and when I opened the system again, I found no folder there. How to get it back? Thank you in advance. Waiting for your reply..................

You'll need a file recovery utility like Recuva or Undelete Plus to search for the folder. It should be pretty easy to get it back since it just happened. http://www.piriform.com/recuva http://undelete-plus.com/

I don't know under these circumstances where it will be stored. As far as I know the folder will not be cut/copied unless its detination is specified. Even then I don't know why it happened for you like this. I have also heard that you can go to the system restore function so that you can see the system as a day earlier as it was or any other day as you chose. If you have taken snapshot of your system then also you can revert back to that incident.

I doubt if system restore would be of any value in this case. System restore backs up the Windows registry, so it may restore the folder as a directory path but it would not return and files to it.

This is rather weird. If you didn't begin pasting it to another directory I would believe that your folder will be right where you left it. Even sometimes when I start the paste procedure after cutting a floder, if something stops the procedure the files that were not pasted are back to their starting place. In a situation like yours I would try system restore, or maybe some of those little software that can fetch you files that you deleted even from your recycle bin.

yes you can check your recycle bin and if nothing happens then you can try any recovery software to recover your files. or you can try to restore your computer to an older time

Hey friend, first you can try the windows search function found on the start menu on the bottom left of your screen. I said windows because I am assuming you're us that operating system. If you cannot still find it then try using a recovery software like Recuva which has a free version which is quick and easy to use.

Oh so sorry to hear this. i have been through this but i would like you to check on the recycle bin because at times things that get deleted goes to the recycle bin and i am sure you can restore it from there. Just try this. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Try to retrieve or search on your desk top. If you can find it, it is not possible to retrieve the files. Good day!
