Do Commercials Interest You?

Internet commercials are one way a marketing strategy that business’s render in order to gain popularity and profit for their products/services. While there are some commercials telling us that they are effective and has edge among the others. We really can’t tell if they are telling the truth or not because majority of them are staged. Majority of its endorsers are promoters rather than proof tellers since commercials are scripted we really can’t tell if it is just a business strategy or a shear result of product exaggeration.

I have two favorite commercials that I like to watch. I like to watch the Hershey's Kiss commercial that runs every year at Christmas. There's also the commercial that has the cat watching the boy jump around in the litter box. I can't remember what the commercial is for, but I think that one is cute.

I have found commercials often unimaginative and unintelligent. I like the humourous ones best although I am not usually prompted to buy anything as a result. The ones for food do send me into the biscuit tin or a bar of chocolate but that is about it. I remember one advert many years ago for murraymints. The advert showed someone being tied to a stake surrounded by Indians about to kill him and the song accompanying the scene was 'Murrymint the too good to hurry mint.' I've never forgotten it and yes, I still buy them when I see them.

Commercials used to be entertaining. Back in the 70's and 80's some commercials were more entertaining than the program you were watching, but today most of the commercials I see are stupid and a big turn off. There is only a few commercials out there now that I actually enjoy watching. One is the Geico commercial (it wouldn't get me to switch auto insurance), but I like to watch it and I like the mayhem commercial with the guy as mayhem. That's entertaining. Commercials have no influence over whether I purchase a product or not. I usually just get up and walk out during a commercial. Thanks for the discussion.

Lately TV commercials have not enticed me to buy anything however they sure did when I was a kid. Those toy commercials told me exactly what I wanted. Especially around Christmas time.

While watching a commercial years ago. I was encouraged to buy cleaning products like mr clean etc.

I like some commercials and hate others. Some of the Geico Gecko commercials are amusing as well as their pig ones with the pig going Weeee. I like the T-Mobile ones with the hot girl on the motorbike because I'm a guy and I think she is hot in those. I think some of the Progressive Insurance commercials are amusing. I don't like most commercials especially the ones that just repeat over and over. I hate most of the ones for medicines for COPD. Some of those had older people teaching kids to cheat like the old guy who was playing miniature golf with his grand kids and they had him show that the medicine gave him enough breath to blow the ball into the cup when his shot had been a couple of inches short which meant he was cheating in front of the little kids. Another has the guy saying that before COPD he and his son went fishing every year and that they had a great place that was hard to find but worth it; so would he forget where it was between each time they went. Better writing for that would have been that it was hard to get to but worth it. As far as encouraging me to buy something, the most that any commercial might do is to maybe get me to do some research on something but the commercial alone would not get be to buy something.

I can't really say that many commercials interest me. Some I do find interesting, or clever, or something to that effect. However, it doesn't really happen all that often that I'll enjoy watching commercials, or find them interesting.
