Do you drink tea?

I don't know why, but something prompted me to buy some tea today. I bought green tea, because my husband said he would drink it also. I haven't had much tea in my life. I LOVE my coffee, but I've never been a big fan of tea.. especially regular stuff. I always have to have the sweetened iced tea. But here I am slowly sipping a cup of green tea. It has so many health benefits! Green tea can help prevent many types of cancer. It helps lower cholesterol. It even helps burn fat! Some of the articles I was just reading about tea said that there's really no bad tea. Sure some are better than others, but there's absolutely nothing bad about drinking tea (unless you drown it in cream and sugar!). However with coffee you hear mixed reviews. Some say it's good, others say it's bad. Most agree that you shouldn't drink too much coffee (although I do!). But with tea, some of the benefits are best when you drink upwards of 6 cups a day! Well.. I'm not really sure that I like it. It's kind of bland. I'm hoping that if I make myself drink a little bit a day I can start getting used to it and maybe eventually like it. It may never completely replace my coffee.. but maybe it can help me cut back on the coffee (which I do drown in cream and sugar!).

I drink quite a bit of tea when winter hits. There are a few good pages on the web about what benefits each tea has. However, like you I usually put quite a bit of sugar in my tea, but I'm trying to be good and use honey instead.

My 12 year old wants honey in his tea all the time. He loves hot green tea, but does not like it with sugar. Gotta have his honey.

Since I've never really had it before, I'm trying it plain so I don't get hooked on putting sugar or honey in it.

I know where you are coming from on sweetener and creamer. . . I gave it up cold turkey in my coffee when I was pregnant the first time, as it upset my stomach. I quit drinking sugar in tea when I was about nine years old. I find if I use honey, it does not get me as hooked, and I will do lemon and honey for a sore throat. I will use stevia to sweeten things as well, but honestly, I like the flavor of many of the teas that I buy.

Most of the tea I drink is sweet tea. Yesterday I made sweet tea with green tea. I don't drink hot tea very often, but when I do it is usually sweetened with a little sugar or honey. I can't really drink tea unsweetened.

I am going to try getting used to it without sweetener. I already use too much sugar in my coffee.. I need to cut down even though I use Splenda.. it's still not so good for you.

Try honey and lemon in your green tea. I also like jasmine green tea and various fruited green teas. It does not replace my coffee, but it is something different to drink. I like it iced as well.

I am trying to just drink it plain so that I do not get hooked on adding sweeteners or anything else to it. I already put too much sweetener in my coffee, so I want to stay away from that with the tea.

When I was asked what I wanted for Christmas the only thing I asked for was a tea kettle. My mom always made hers with a pan, or in the microwave, but I don't really want to. I know so many teas have so many great health benefits. But I want to make sure I don't drink the ones with caffeine. I was drinking a green tea one day but then noticed it had a lot of caffeine. I'm pretty sure you can find some without it. I also think I'll have to get used to bland flavoring. I don't want to add sugar. I've never been a coffee drinker. I'm a soda person. And I know I'd lose weight if I cut back.

I haven't had a soda in a couple weeks now! My problem now is coffee. I drink coffee almost all day long. I was trying to work in a bit of water, especially at night so I'm not staying up all night long. Now I'm going to try to work in a bit of tea also. Tea actually has a lot less caffeine than coffee does, by almost half.

I started drinking tea when I was little with my grandmother....and I still like to have a cup or several a week. Did you know that tea also aids in helping inflamation? Camomille tea is a stress reliever? Tea has many benefits....

I was looking for camomile tea to help with my irritability lately, but the store was out, so I got the green tea instead.

Recent research shows that black tea has the same amount of polyphenols as green tea. And black and green tea have 8-10 times more polyphenols than fruits and vegetables. I've tried green tea and you're right, it is bland. So I stick with black tea. Especially since I read it's just as good as green. I was trying to like the green tea for the health benefits. And I was glad to read that it's as good as green tea for getting rid of cancer causing free radicals. Try a good, strong cup of black Irish or Russian tea. That's what I drink. I always wanted to be a coffee drinker but I'm allergic to it. There are so many different flavored creamers you can put in coffee. They don't taste so good in tea. I know, I tried it. I just read an article saying that coffee reduces the risk of Parkinson's Disease by about 40% and Alzheimer's by about 20% if you drink 24oz of it a day. But it might not be good for high blood pressure or pregnant women. Here's the link, in case you're interested: www.livestrong.com/article/312941-is-coffee-healthy/ There's some interesting facts about coffee in the article. Interesting discussion. I think I'll go make a pot of tea!

Constant Comment is a wonderful tea, either hot or iced. It has the spices and orange of Russian Tea.

Hi GG! I don't drink flavored teas. I never could get use to them. I've tried so many. One year I got a gift box of 12 different flavored teas and was determined to like at least one. I couldn't. Everybody I've ever known drinks flavored tea. Except my mother. She liked a plain tea but she always made it weak and didn't like strong tea like I do. I like iced tea but only with lemon and sugar. The Russian tea I buy is just plain black tea and very strong. But I've never heard of Constant Comment. I'll have to check it out and see what kind of tea they have. My tastes in food & drink are mostly plain. I'm not very interesting, I guess. When I first saw Chai tea it sounded good. I bought a box and thought it smelled good but I didn't like that either. Oh, wait. There are two teas I really like - Ginger Snappish and Eggnogg'n by Bigelow Teas. I like to put cream in them. It makes the ginger one taste like gingerbread with whipped cream and the eggnog one is more egg noggy with cream in it. I had forgotten all about those two. But now the idea of Russian tea with orange in it is stuck in my head. It sounds good. Without the spices, just the orange. Maybe I can find some.

i am a coffee-lover, too, but undoubtedly - tea is good for you.. in our country - 'black-tea' is pretty common - black-tea, i think came for India / Sri Lanka and they are to have with sugar + milk - i also think the 'British Tea' is actually 'India/SriLankan Tea'... we also grow our own tea, and they're quite good also... unfortunately all the 'health-tea' taste pretty much the same - BLAND - There is Chinese Tea.. and like you mentioned - Japanese Tea - but it is not just Green-Tea - they also have a lot of variants.. and, have you heard of 'ROIBOS-tea'? - this one i heard, is from South Africa... also very good 'health-drink'..

Now I do also love a good cup of coffee like yourself but, I also love a good cup of tea - well I say cup but, I mean mug really! I enjoy drinking both and will alternative depending on my mood. Also for me, I take sugar in coffee but, not in tea so when I am trying to cut down on sugar intake, because I am not keen on sweeteners, I just move onto drinking tea instead!

Hello there! To answer your question, yes I do drink green tea. I've been doing it for more than ten years now. I am not a regular drinking though, there are times I would stop for several months because I got so fed up with the taste (I drink it pure, by the way) then after a few months I'd go back drinking again. I substitute it for coffee because I have heard that too much coffee is not good for the body. Most people find its taste bad, but to me it tastes okay. Not good but not that bad either. The taste is just tolerable. And yes, I have read a lot about the good benefits of green tea to our body. I could say some of them are true, although some I have not felt or notice anything about that in my health just yet. I know someone who does not look his age, and he told me that it's because of drinking green tea everyday.

I am very much fond of green tea & the same should be taken without sugar & milk. If required you can just add some organic honey to the same. Green tea is definitely better than any other tea....you can try green tea with a dash of lemon to taste.

Benefit of Tea - Lemon Tea for your Health
I beliefe tea has secret bebnefit for our body. Tea is the second most widely consumed in the world after freshwater. Tea drunk by millions of people around the world. Some historical records indicate that tea has become the beverage of human companion for over five thousand years! There are four main types of tea: white, green, oolong, and black. The most famous tea has health benefits is green tea. However, other types of tea also has a number of beneficial health properties. Almost every person in the world consumption of tea every day. In fact some are not sufficient if only a cup of tea consumed per day. The tradition of drinking tea every morning and afternoon should we preserve, or even that we pass on to our children. Because the benefits are so much to our health. I always drink tea 3-4 times a day.

Kats, i like drinking tea. I like drinking many types of tea. In my home, there are tea of varieties flavor. The newest addition of tea is the strawberry tea. Although it is nice but i still prefer drinking either Green tea or Jasmine tea. Sometimes, i do drink the black tea as well. I only drink coffee during raining days or cold weather. One thing for sure, i always need to put a little of sugar or cream into my tea or coffee.

I love to drink tea. It could be 110 degrees outside and I'd still sit there with a hot cup of tea. I also like iced tea with no sweetener and a little bit of lemon. If you think green tea is rather bland you should try some more exotic teas. They have all kinds of flavors. In the mall near my house they have a tea shop that carries many tasty high quality teas. If you live near a tea shop I'd suggest checking it out. They often have free samples. If you do not perhaps you should try looking online. In my opinion there is a huge difference between the tea that comes in bags you purchase from the grocery store and buying fresh tea leaves.

oh yeah i like tea..but i am not so used to of it.. and neither i am big fan of coffee but i have no problem with both of these drinking materials. if you would ask me which one i will go with if i have to choose one out of both, then i will go with tea.. scientists have given many advantages of both tea and coffee..and of course if they have advantages they do have disadvantages too..some people take these drinking materials in excess which is not good for health.. thanks.
