Our place is famous because of the Mayon Volcano which is known for its perfect cone. My husband and I decided to drop by at the place since it is just a few kilometers from our house. The place was able to recovered already from the catastrophe that has taken place last 2006 wherein thousands of people died and many are still missing when the volcano erupted causing the village on the nearby area to be covered with lava and rocks. A new bridge was already constructed making it easier for local and foreign tourists to come to the pace. Indeed this place is still a popular place for all tourists who came to our place. For the benefit of those who have not seen the place yet, I have attached a photo for your reference. I waited for a long time for the clouds to move away from the cone so that I could take a perfect view but it seems that it is not moving away. Anyway, I hope you like it. I will be sharing photos of our place in the days to come. Hoping to be able to buy a DSLR camera for a better picture. Have a nice day!

Hi shavkat! The place is open for everybody who might want to visit. This is one of the most popular tourist destination in our place. The other one is the Whale shark capital of the world, which is located in Donsol. Hope you can come and have a visit someday! Thank you for sharing!

I'm from the Philippines too. But I haven't seen the place yet. I have been hearing a lot of stories and school lessons about Mayon Volcano over my grade school and high school days. I can still remember how beautiful it was on those pictures. And I can't even imagine how majestic it would be if I will be able to see it in person. I know that I will have no regrets when I finally visit it. I can't wait to explore more of the Philippines' splendid spots. Surely, it will be breath-taking. :)

Hi auwieladay! I am glad you are being active in myLot. Well, our place is just ten to twelve hours of travel from the capital city, Manila. I hope you could also have a visit and I'm sure you will enjoy it here. I am also planning to explore our region in the days to come. Honestly there are still lots of places in our region which I am not able to see yet. Before I go to other places, I hope I can explore our own place first. Thank you for sharing!

I heard or read somewhere that the place now is mostly famous because of the ruins, since the perfectness of the cone shape was no longer present due to the latest eruption. I'm not so sure about this news yet though. Still, I would like to visit the place someday.

I have always wanted to see the place for myself. It has always been featured in our subjects since way back in elementary school. I hope that I would be able to someday soon.

Hi choybel! That is true, the part of the cone was damaged due to the explosion. But still the volcano is still in perfect shape. The church or the Cagsawa Ruins is also an added attraction. Hope you can also see the place personally. Thank you for sharing!

We are really planning to visit your place, soon. A lot of tourists local and foreign have been interested in checking out Bicol and the neighboring towns or cities. The Mayon Volcano has been a star since elementary history classes, and it'd be good to finally see it with my own two eyes.

Most places are best visited during summer, especially if it has great sights to see. Do you think the kids would enjoy it there? What activities are best recommended for kids below 5yrs old?

Yes Mayon is indeed a beautifully shaped volcano, almost perfect if seen at a distant. But in reality the tip of the mountain is not that perfect anymore. But still the shape is indeed quite unique that it has this shape almost symmetrically perfect. I am a Bicolano myself and whenever I pass by Albay and see its majesty I still am awed by the beauty it possess even to this day.

Wow! I'm happy to know that I have a fellow Bicolano in here. Even I can see the volcano everyday, I still love to go to Cagsawa in order to see if there are new improvements around the area. Thank you for sharing!

It's amazing that after several eruptions throughout the years, Mount Mayon still maintains a somewhat perfect conical shape. A natural wonder indeed. I've traveled around the country a lot, but I still have to visit Albay, your province, and personally see this famous volcano (and the ruins) with my son, as well as visit the other natural wonders we have in our country.

I had read about the sad news of its eruption and also watched a couple of videos on you tube. Not a happy sight though. But, the photo you have taken looks quite wonderful and trust me, if you didnt mention it was the Mayon Volcano, it would have been quite impossible for many to identify. I dont know if I can ever make it to visit Philippines, but in case I do, I have a few friends from MyLot who (I can be sure) will definitely get me to this place and I would be able to see this one live. There was another picture that I saw, which was of some volcano but there was a church which looked like an old fort - If I remember right the pics were from Legazpi City, Bicol.

Hi, I have not been on your place even if we are on the same country. Its not that I hate traveling, its my work that can't warrant it. I kept on wondering what's underneath that steeple, it should be a big church by the way I see it. Archaeologist should dig into it to see the past. It's a perfect cone, right. In front of a buried church, it perfection is marred by its savage power unleashed and may be unleashed once again anytime without warning. Its a beauty and a beast, I should say without prejudice to your sentiments. Maybe, I should visit the place someday. Who knows, my work may be the same to facilitate it.

Hi rog! Thank you for the interest given on this discussion. Actually, I have heard from the elders that the church bell which was supposed to be on the part of the church was stolen many years ago. There are also a lot of stories about that church, some says the spirit of those who were buried alive inside that church are pulling down those who attempted to see what's inside the church. I hope you can visit the place one of this days. Thank you for sharing!

I have only seen the Mayon Volcano in pictures and in television. I am from the Northern part of the country and the farthest I have gone in Bisol is at Daet, Camarines Norte. Well, hopefully I can get to see the volcano firsthand since this is something that we all should be proud of.

One of the Philippines prime tourist spot is the Mt Mayon. I haven't seen it in my naked eye but a friend have told me that the volcano is almost perfect. Sometime associated as "The Gentle Giant" because the volcano is really beautiful when it sleeps and dangerous when it will become active. i wish I could see Mt. mayon also. It will be a dream come true for me.
