I was just out for an hour and I got a lot of responses.lolthis is really a great site. we are of the same situation, I make use of mylot to escape from my routinary job everyday. Given that it is not allowed in our office, I still get the chance to visit the site to prevent boredom and everything.Maybe, this is one of the reasons why I am not resigning on my current job. I can make use of the internet whenever I want to just being careful and discreet.Other companies were so strict with this.

Hi Beamer88 You have a point that it is also nice to share your emotions and sentiments on the non-virtual friends. With my experience,there are some people who will just listen to you and afterwards will back fight you and will tell common friends that, it's his fault, or it's his problem. As of the moment, I am more comfortable sharing my emotions on my virtual friend. Actually, i met a true friend here in mylot. She is from U.S. She even entrusted her number to me and I called her when I am in the office and we get to share things. It's nice to meet people online especially if you get to have the same interest in life. @ girl_thinking sharing what we have inside is really a great feeling. it makes us breath freely and happily.

Good friends are hard to find. Whether in person or virtual world. We all need friends. They are our saving grace in life.

I also use writing as an outlet of my emotions. It helped me a lot especially when I was going through my teenage years. My diary saved me from boredom and from all the whatnots of a teenager. I wish mylot existed then

wolfie, very well said. I agree that I too have used this forum to get advice especially when I have had no one else that I could turn. Here we get the unconditional support that we need. It sometimes surprises me how there is this common bond among us all here on the site that we seldomly share even with the closest of our friends. That being, a common desire of wanting to be helpful and supportive. Why is it that we so rarely achieve this even from our closest of offline friends? This year, I have gone through so much. I only wish I would have come back to myLot sooner than last month. It is amazing how even just reading, writing, anddiscussing things with friends can be bring you tranquility and peace of mind.

It certainly is a good feeling-- while there aren't many people around with my particular problem (severe retrograde amnesia, causing extreme agoraphobia and panic disorders) there are people here who still talk to me, and I talk to them. People here are more "real", in some ways, than they are offline-- because I almost never see any "real" people LOL. I imagine MyLot as a giant, shining city in some alternate universe, where everyone dresses differently, looks different, and is unique, but somehow we all speak the same language. Not paradise by any means, but a lot "cleaner" and less frightening and confusing than the real world-- for me.

It is so interesting that you call myLot a lifeline. I had not thought of it in these terms; however, I definitely have used it as a lifeline. Rather than just continue to make poor decisions or feeling like I have no one to discuss my problems, I turn to myLot. I post discussions to get advice from my friends and I actively participate with my friends along with other members on the site. I agree that myLot feels like a much safer environment for socializing. Out in the real world you can so easily feel vulnerable, and worry about people taking advantage of the situation. Here in myLot, we are all here for the same reasons. We want to socialize, share our experiences, help each other, make friends, and make some extra money.

I also don't get out in the world and come to mylot to find out what's going on. I don't start discussions (you have me beat there) so I just read and post as well. And it's funny how, now matter how different you feel you might be from others, you can always find someone in mylot that relates to you or someone who truly wants to be your friend and help you out. It's a good feeling.

habibti, I agree that there are certain things that we just cannot talk to some of our friends about, so it is nice to have a forum where we can openly share these interests. Everyone's interests on the site is so diverse that we can always find a bunch that shares our our interest to have a discussion about any given topic. I am sorry to hear that your workplace is kind of negative. It is amazing how the cultures at workplaces are becoming in today's modern society. It is all about productivity. I agree that myLot remains an utopia of peace where we can all come to enjoy the art of having a friendly discussion with each other.

Yes, myLot can inspire us. It is a place where we all feel successful. It is a place that we can come to feel good about ourselves.

jazel_uan, You make a great point. MyLot is the one place that I can come that is stress free, where I do not feel overwhelmed. I can get tons of notifications, and I still do not feel overwhelmed.

mikyung, I agree! While I never got the point of Twitter, and I remain clueless about Facebook. I truly see the value of myLot! The benefits that we receive from being here greatly compensate us for the time that we spend on the site.

Yes, it is so nice to come online to myLot to escape our problems in real life. It is also helpful because you can get advice on how to handle your problems in life. The posts that you read can really give you a lift even when you are feeling down. There is always someone there to make you smile and laugh. It is a great site!

Magz, I never thought of the benefit of myLot of stress relief. I do seem to find myLot as a great way to unwind before bed.

Definitely, more power to myLot! It does seem to empower all of us in different ways. I know when my ex-boyfriend I were having issues it drove him crazy that I was not jumping at text him back. I was busy online with myLot. I love it here!
