Do you agree? myLot is one of the best way to practice English

Hmmm... I am new here as I have posted on several discussions I have made. I am not a native English speaker because I am a Filipino. I found this site very enticing for it encourages everyone to communicate through English. Whew... really thinking and writing thoughts, emotions and so on in English is "nose bleeding" as we call it in the Philippines. In other words, quite difficult for non native English speakers like me. But as English was annouced to be as an International Language and therefore at least one must know at least the basics of the language, in written and oral communications. Now that the postings and comments should be in English, everyone native English speakers or not should be compelled to have our writings in English. Furthermore, though correcting someone's grammar is a big no no here you, seeing somebody posted/replied in wrong grammar or words misspelled you tend to be conscious of not committing that mistake somehow. Do you agree that you can learn and practice English here as well. I am glad I do. Are you?

@Mavic123456 MyLot can be a good way to learn English but I feel it's only good to learn it in a written form. Some times it can be better to also hear it. I've heard that some people use TV shows or movies to learn English. Cool trick I reckon.

Yes, just today I have used a different teaching strategy to let my students speaks, and that is "oral reading" by following a script from an audio track. I think that's effective.

I agree in a way this site can help us improve and practice our written english, there are native english speakers who are registered to this site. So, they can pretty much help us in enhancing our written english. Moreover, the site is using English as it's medium of communication. So, there is no doubt that we are all challenged to write and express our thoughts in the english language. I myself is not a native english speaker. However, with the help of such site, it helps me improve my english. Have fun and keep on participating! :D

Hey, yeah. i do use the search engine bar here in myLot (not because it can also earn us points) but for multitasking purposes, it is much reliable rather than opening another tab. Thanks for the reply. :D

Yes, i do agree with you and it helps you to correct your English. Though I have a style in writing that against in English grammars but still the free flowing of thoughts is the best. Though i am conscious on my spelling anyway and my very complicated compounded English construction. Happy to be here.

More over, I am also a Filipino and English is not my mother tongue but it is the international instruction at Philippines so, i guess having MY LOT may enhance my grammar and the skills in English writing and communication.

That is the best thing about Mylot. We can speak wrong grammar but no one will make fun of us. People respect your opinions and understand that not all people here have a good command in English language. I admit that I sometimes commit mistakes when I type in English and I'm not really correcting my grammar but Mylot helped me a lot in improving my written skills in English.

I agree with you. Mylot is a very good place to practise English. As English is the main language here. No matter where you come from, you have to post in English in Mylot only. And therefore I can learn more new words from others. Meanwhile I can make a progress of my writing English. This is especially beneficial for me because English is a foreign language for me.

It is true that Mylot is where we can practise our English. It does help me a lot in English study. Now whenever I type to respond to a discussion, I can always type very smoothly so long as I have something in mind. I love this site so much that I won't feel myself if I don't visit it every day. Take care, Mavic.

Honestly I joined in Mylot with the plan of just to earn some extra money so that I can spend it as my wish. But as soon as I started using this I realised that apart from only earning, Mylot is also helping me to improve my English and ofcourse my General Knowledge also. While start a discussion or respond to a discussion, even though I am making a lot of mistakes it helps me to improve my skills.

Yes you are right. By reading comments of different people from different places our vocabulary really increases by adding, finding new new phrases, words, examples and feelings, thoughts etc. A wide approach towards life develops and we start thinking and express ourselves in English. That is the beauty of Mylot i think so.

Hi Mavic, I have seen that written here many times by members whose first language is not English. And they all agree it's a good place to learn the language. Although I must say, your English is very good. I did not realize at first that English was not your native language until after I saw that you were from the Philippines.Your spelling and use of the language is very good! Well, it's 5:40am here on the East Coast and I think I will go to bed now. I've been mylotting quite a bit and now I'm tired.

Yes i think that's the main concern of Non native english speakers how to express ourselves in English. so you are from East Coast. Glad to meet you deazil. ok rest and mylot again tomorrow. good evening. and sleep tight.

I Agree!! :D that is the reason why I am doing this mylot because my english professor told us and required us to practice our english skills by posting and commenting here on mylot. and I'm happy about this because I can share my english skills here, because at school I am very shy and scared of showing what I am capable of.. :)
