Is Mylot the insomniacs dream?

Greece

I ask this question because this site is open for discussion 24/7 so what better way to fill in the hours when sleep refuses to come, than to chat away - perhaps to other insomniacs - and earn some money while you do it. On the other hand it might be the insomniancs nightmare because it will get the adrenalin flowing and puish sleep even further away.

I love that the site is 24/7 because a few weeks ago when I was sick I could not sleep at night for the life of me. Every time I laid down I would cough my head off and could not sleep. So, I sat up a lot and came here! =) It was a great solution. I am glad it is always here for me to come to whenever I want or need to.

What a convenience to have something interesting to take your mind off a nasty cough! A friend in need is a friend indeed LMB. I'm glad you are feeling better now.

Interesting thought.. but you can also ask if this site is the solution to those who work at night and are not able if they come back home to jump into bed inmediately. BTW I noticed that after a certain time there are no new discussions over here. Might be there are but not if it comes to the subjects of my interest? Still think it's kind of weird since people all over the world are joining and we don't have the same time. If you are not able to sleep I think it's better not to sit behind your computer, it will not give your brains any rest. It's better to sit in the dark and try to relax. Since lack of sleep, not able to sleep, less sleep, is also a habit and it takes years to re-instruct your system if it comes to that.

I've noticed too that sometimes there are no discussion to join of any real interest. I waste quite a few minutes trying to find something but I give up in the end unless I think of a discussion for a subject myself. In a way we owe it to one another to introduce new subjects so that there is always something to write about. Personally I am pretty tired of all the love -sick ones.

Until I found the answer to my problems, Mylot used to be a nightmare, not literally but when I was in bed I would come up with these ideas for discussions, and I would be lying awake in bed, my mind wouldn't shut down and sleep was evasive, I was thinking about my next discussion. Now I keep a pen and paper beside me just in case, often I have got out of bed to write the idea down before it was forgotten in the morning, now I have the solution, no ideas come to me when I am in bed.

I've spent a lot of time on myLot and one thing I've learned is that this place never closes! If you want to chat with somebody all the way around the world you can. I have lots of friends from across the pond and farther, I may never meet them but I get to chat with them about everyday topics. I don't stay up too late on myLot but I do spend a fair amount of time here.

I think it's open 24/7 because this is available worldwide, and people from different parts of the world are awake at different times. However, you may be right about the insomniacs. What better way to make earnings out of your trouble sleeping, huh. If I can't sleep or I wake up in the middle of my sleep, I would go here.

I also like the fact that we do not know the nationality of people unless they are regular friends or we decide to look them up. So our responses are not based on any bias we may have towards any particular country. We just react person to person and that is wonderful.

I think that when people are sleepless, they will want to find something to make them busy, otherwise, it will be quite hard to while the boring time. And mylot is a wonderful place for people to exchange their opinions with others. Compared with other sites, mylot has some charming point(earning money may be one of the them). I believe that you will be agree with my opinion:)

It could be both a dream and a nightmare. I was not an insomniac when I found MyLot, but I did, for quite a while, disrupt my own sleep patterns because I just had to be here, and I was fearful that I might miss something important. I have had to learn when to "shut her down" because the site is available 24/7 If you stay on too late it does mess up your sleep/wake pattern.

This is a timely warning that proves we can have too much of a good thing!

You could be right. It's 4 am here in Australia and I'm unable to sleep, although if truth be known, I could probably go back to sleep now. The think is, it's probably broad daylight where you are now. While some of us are sleeping, the rest of us are going about our daily doings so there is always someone about.

It's already 2am here in my country and I'm still mylotting. LOL. MyLot is really addicitng that I can't put down my phone and doze off. Anyway, I guess we can myLot if we aren't sleepy yet however, it's not good to stay force yourself to stay awake. We should also take enough sleep to have enough energy on the next day. I don't suffer from insomia nowadays. I just want to finish two more comments. LOL. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

This could be true! I'm sure I've been here in the past when I couldn't get to sleep. I would get on, thinking I'd get tired, so I could finally go to bed, but instead I'd get the adrenaline flowing and making me more not-sleepy. But most of the time, myLot is my filler. There are lulls in my day job where I could be rushing things one hour, and I'd be really bored the next. When I'm bored is when I myLot. I'd get the mind running instead of just dozing off on my desk in the office.

I think it's not only myLot, but internet as a whole is the insomniacs' dream.. I even think that it's not the insomnia that makes people use internet on late night, but it's more about people refuse to sleep because they still want to go online..
