Oh I live in a country where Roman Catholic dominates and we strongly believe that abortion is a sin. I'm just thinking what if abortion is legal, does it has a great advantage? Less street kids, less starved people specially the kids, less poor etc...

If abortion is legal crime rate will surely decrease, I remember reading something like that in a book. I' not saying I favor it, but if they legalized it it would somehow help those pregnant rape victim. I mean they didn't really want that. But then again I'm not saying I'm in its favor.

I think it's better if abortion is legal with conditions. The children must be limit in the family according to their income. Financial status of a couple must be take into consideration to achieve a better life. In this way, there's a possibility to lessen starved kids and crime rate. What do you think?

I kind of agree too. I heard that in some country, abortion is legal with condition too. Like if the mother is at danger if she is to deliver her baby or if the doctors found out that the baby in the womb of the mother has some abnormality. Another one is those product of rape cases, to protect the mother psychologically, she is allow to have abortion.

I think that it best to adopt unwanted babies. Every couple should be using a reliable form of birth control. If a abortion is allowed it kills many innocent babies and the lady after abortion can suffer severe depression. The clock can't be turned back. Once aborted the lady will feel she has made a mistake.
Birth control should be given out. Street children should be given food and a shelter. Education is vital for people in your home country. Abortion is horrible and it is not then ideal answer to help your home country.

@polaroidsredwine: I never known any couple who don't like a baby. Did you?
Yes birth control is so important to lessen unwanted pregnancies.

Just because someone has an abortion doesn't mean they will go through severe depression after. There are many people out there who don't ever want a child.
I agree with you that birth control should be given out, but not only that - people should also be educated on how to properly use birth control to ensure a lesser rate of unwanted pregnancies, meaning less abortions.

I think what we should have here is discipline itself. Couples should be responsible enough to their decisions. Whatever decision they make whether right or wrong, they should be ready to face the consequences. Innocent lives should not be sacrificed just because we don't want them to be part of our lives. Unwanted babies should be given the chance to live, at least turn over them to adoption houses rather than kill them or throw them like garbage..let's be human enough..

You seem to have a misconception when you relate abortion and less of street kids. In India, the abortion is quite legal and still we have lots and lots of street kids. The two arent related anyway. Not even the starvation and abortion get related.
Abortion has only a better reason - to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Though there are many contraceptives available in the market, still it is an aide to get rid of the unborn maybe due to health reasons or otherwise.

OH I really thought that if abortion is allowed, there would be less street kids, less starved people etc. Thanks for the information.
If a woman got pregnant and her pregnancy may threaten her life, it was allowed too here in my country to abort the baby to save the mother. It's a case to case basis.

When I was in college and was involved with health awareness programmes in the slums and other places where the poor and homeless stayed, I felt that no expecting mother would ever want to kill her baby. And in that emotion and love for her baby, abortion is still confined to only those who got pregnant by mistake or even were not allowed to carry on with pregnancy due to health hazards or other reasons. We all believe that the one who gives birth (the God) will take care of the born. This belief is what I feel responsible for abortions not related to less of street kids and also starvation.

If abortion become legal, it must be that the decision is come from a mother itself. I heard that there are countries who obliged the mother to abort the fetus even if it's against her will. If this is the case, there's a possibility for a mother to experienced depression.

Oh. I think it will be very impossible to whatever country it is to legalize abortion. In whatever angle you will look it into, it is still abortion, and will always be a mortal sin. No one has the right to kill a child of their own or even if it's not. Abortion is not the way to decrease the street children and starved people on Earth. It's just a matter or helping one another and perseverance. Abortion is a no-no.

surekharathi, i agreed with u, if the baby and the mom in danger, should the doctor think twice what to act, rather to have both or loss one rather then loss both the baby and mother.
is there still have people hate baby girl in this global world?
look like they still in old days, woman can do anything now
