MyLot is alternative to Diary?

@tech40 I don't really tell everyone what is going on whether it's online or offline. I tend to keep some thoughts and issues to myself and I am glad there is a site like here so people can vent out their worries or even their happiness.

How I define Mylot? Mylot is my shock-absorber and my online diary. I have my previous topic with all the responses printed. I have files of my old topics and maybe one day I will have the other topics printed too. So I can have something to read when internet crashed down...lols (kidding)

I too have posted things that I am dealing with but it is very general and it is to encourage discussion to help me figure out the situation. Sometimes you need someone from the outside looking in to put things in perspective because many people are blind to what is right in front of them.

hi, yes i too saw many discussions like that, and there is nothing wrong in feeling so, mylot is actually like a diary for some people. I am not interested in writing any diary nor i use mylot like that. I just think its a social network. A good one indeed where i met some good people.

It is good that some people share their lives here. I think that maybe they cannot share it is anywhere else and just prefer to share here. as far as they are comfortable it is fine. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Hi tech! I love to read those sharing about their personal life. This is one way of knowing them also especially those who became my friends already. I am also happy if I could give them my advice for some matters and there are times that I myself learned from a particular experience without actually undergoing it by myself. Personally, I write everything as a part of an experience. This way, I could say that this particular article or post is really mine.

I also find there's no delete botton, however many people really take it as a diary,maybe it is also a way to release one's mood here,because there's many people from all over the world.

Yesssssssssssssss!!!! In the sense that you are expressing your feeling, telling about your thoughts, experiences and all!:)) But in what sense are they different? At your diary you talk to the pad while here you talk with everyone! At your diary, you don't get a single response and here u'd get a bunch!!! Your diary is really private, some are even designed with locks!haha =) But Mylot, once shared- it's there forever. No way you can delete it, unless the Mylot Moderators does for violations xD =)

yeah...i think you,re right cause mylot isn,t just how to earning money.but mylot,can for you to tell your problem to someone else who reading it.and maybe there some people can help your problem.

I never thought of it that way but I believe you're right. It doesn't bother me but a lot of people just like telling random stories about their day. Sometimes I read them and they don't prompt much of a response so I don't know what to say. I don't like giving short and generic responses.

Hi Tech40, It is not only Mylot, but if you see all the forums or discussions where you are free to start a discussion, then the same kind of topics arise more often. It's not that these forums are like diaries, but what I feel is, it could be some sort of solitude or loneliness that they feel after a break up and want to soothe themselves by wirting and getting comments or feedbacks about it. May be they get consoled by some unknown friends around.

for some, mylot became an outlet for them to release all there worries and thoughts plus the fact that their are people who will give them advice and opinions that`s why mylot i think is better than having a diary but always be careful because as what you`v said everyone see`s what you`ll post..

So it is in my opinion. I think it is great to regard mylot as a diary. I like writting diary on mylot to share with my friends.

It does happen for other members, but not all secrecy of life should be shared. We still need the word privacy. Do you agree?

Yes it is an alternative ! You can pour everything there , happy or sad it is so welcome but you just need to protect your privacy . Be open as you can provided you don't give your real identity , it may blunder you or some might bully. We don't know what is in the mind of some people , so it is so good to be cautious. To express anything without them knowing your real you is a beautiful thing because you can express without inhibitions and pretensions .

Hi tech, Yep, I think you are right that this is an alternative to diary and the only difference is that everybody can read and judge you for it.

DEfinitely not. It is just a good venue to air out pains and sorrows and disappointments. Yes true simple for comfort. it is still nice to write in the diary (traditional). then keep it so secretly because people in the house just love snopping around what you are hiding and find it as their ultimate job piss you, revealing what you have written there secretly. LOL. It is still exciting to have a real diary.

When we say diary, it's more of a private notebook wherein one write what s/he feels or experience. So for me, I don't believe mylot will be an alternative for diary since in here we share our thoughts, feelings, idea and experince. I think mylot is more of a social place or network. :)
