I know that there are people who always try to haggle every time they buy something. I think it is a habit of these people to bargain for lower prices. I also do this occasionally. With the economic crisis we are facing, people now want to stretch their money and make it buy more and last longer. Do you also haggle?

hi cutie18f.
yes, i try to haggle when i buy especially from smaller stores. i think haggling is expected and businesses have already taken into account that customers will haggle so they have adjusted their prices accordingly. if i can't haggle, i try to get some extra stuff for the items that i buy like a freebie or a discount on my next purchase.

hi cuite18f.
for the stores that have fixed prices, i ask if they have discount cards or if they give away freebies or promotional items for any purchase. i also ask for a schedule of their upcoming sales or if they have warehouse sales wherein they have old inventory available for lower prices.

I do the same thing, the economy is starting to make the lives of the people to survive. Being practical in life will not bring bad reputation, it is just how we manage the lifestyle we have. I am one of those people that take to consider being in a modest lifestyle.

I never do this , I want to stretch my money but I look for stores I can afford , no one will never give me a discount . My grand mother is always bargaining for lower price and always telling me I got rip off or something .

I am also trying sometimes but I am not an expert on this one. That is why I prefer to go shopping with my friends especially if we are going to buy from a second hand shops.

As an American in America, I don't get to exercise the skill of negotiation much.
But it's always fun to try to get "the good price". I think we get some kind of feeling of being smart or knowing how things work when we can get the price down.
However, I don't try to do it too much, because everyone has to make a living and provide for their family. I can usually get a good price from people I know, with whom I swap services. I also try to make discounts/freebies for loyal customers of my business.

I don't haggle that much unless I know that the price is too expensive for the item. Most of the time I just buy items without even asking for the seller to give it in a lower price.
