When you feel so down, and all you do is cry the whole time, how do you manage to get back to yourself?
Well, I tried a lot of ways. From eating ice cream to travelling, the feelings get better but is not really gone.
Then, I realized the best way to cope up with depression is through prayers. Praying to God helps me to feel the inner peace, organize my thoughts and find hope.
Yeah, that's the best thing about having a friend up there who would never let you down. No matter what situations, no matter how tough times would seem, God always help those who draw close to Him. :-)

I talk to God and pray. He is the ultimate healer. He is close to the brokenhearted and to those who are crushed in spirit. He never leaves and forsakes those who call on him for help.
I also talk to my godly and Christian friends. They help me get through the pain and depression.
I also sing. Singing makes me forget (at least for a while) bad and depressing things in life.
May God grant you peace of mind and a happy heart always. Blessings.

I can see with have similarity in there. Yeah, maybe you would also agree that there will come a time when God will remove all the pain and will wipe away all the tears in our eyes.
Just need to have faith. :-)

Listen to the music, watch video, play game, travel, share with family and friend, etc. And the most important is pray to God, that's how I feel.

I have periodic depressions, and I take antidepressants. That keeps the depressions down, but I am not able to avoid them completely. When I have a depression I feel like staying in bed all day, but it is usually helps me to get out of the house. Sometimes my husband and I drive around in our local area and visit some of the places on our island and on the neighbour island. I usually feel better when I return to the house. I also like to go for a long walk. It was a piece of advice that I received from my doctor when I had my first depression, and I didn't really believe that it would make a different, but it does help me.

I put a music I like. Some of my music is very good for that. I also travel if I can to where the sun is shining, at least 2 weeks a year, each Winter. Winter is not a good season for me.

I have to laugh so I try to watch funny videos and anything funny I can do. Laughing it's like a shock treatment we just get what we need right away, at once. Plus even if we are not depressed we should seek laughter everyday for several minutes because it helps with the breathing and it renews all brain's oxygen. Thanks, have a happy MyLotting.

Nothing beats the realization that God is our source of strength in every stumble that we experience in life. I have also called upon Him to give me strength and to shed light on my "darkened path". It took time, but I made it through.

IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU!
Tell yourself that, then watch a good religion-comedy, like THE LIFE OF BRIAN, The Invention of Lying or DOGMA.

I set the dvd player and play all the movies that will inspire me. Traveling in a nearby town is one of my option. Then sleep all day long.

Coping up with depression is really a difficult thing to do especially if you're surrounded with stuff and people that makes you depressed. It's good that you have tried ways to pick yourself up but if the pain is still there, may be there's still something that you haven't done. You're right, prayer really works wonders and God is always there for us but I also think that acceptance is the first stage in coping with depression. You accept why it all happened and you assess everything including yourself. After this, ask for God's guidance and help for you to be able to make the broken pieces whole again.
