Are you annoyed when people around you do everything slowly?

In my regular days I have a rythm when I do everything. I like to focus on work and everything that I need to do in the meantime needs to be done fast or I will loose my focus. For example if I need to refill my coffee and someone is in the mood to talk while using the coffee machine and takes a lot of time to finish, I will be impatient. I 'll probably ask politely to let me use it quickly because I am in a hurry and leave. But I will feel annoyed for a moment, when I want to use the coffee machine for a second and I am waiting there for a few minutes until they finish the talk. This is just an example, I feel this way in other instances, when I am in a hurry and the others take their time. Like it happens in my home, I am ready to meet with my friends and I am preparing my bag to leave because they are waiting downstairs, and my mum rememebrs that she wants to show me her work and give her my opinion. And she complains that I don't have 5 minutes for her! Do you get impatient in such situations, when you need to do something fast and people around you take their time and slow you down as well?

I really don't mind waiting but if it is about doing things in the house and finishing home works, that is when I need every one to be on their feet as soon as I tell them what needs to be done. I do not want to be short of time when my kids need to study. I require them to help me as much as they can. I train them that way so that they'll know what to do when they grow up and they would realize that I AM THEIR MOM and not their SERVANT.

Both my dad and mom were working when we were kids. They couldn't do much on the house so we had helpers. But even if we had three helpers, we were trained to help with the chores most especially during weekends. We have rotating schedules on who is going to clean the car, clean the dishes, water the plants, etc. So, I guess, that is where I got it from.

You have a good practice with your children. My mother always did everything for me and when I went to college I didn't know how to boil an egg! It took me time and effort to learn how to cook and take care of the house. Of course now I am very good at it, but I would prefer it if I knew some things from a younger age. keep up the good work! :)

If I'm in a rush I hate to be slowed down by anyone. Like when I go grocery shopping. Unless it's a trip where I want to look for new things I like to just get in and out of the store. I don't really like grocery shopping so I usually hurry. But I use to go with my bf and he never made a list. I always have a list. It's quicker that way. And sometimes he would be just wandering up and down the aisles, poking along looking at everything. Then he'd get upset because I'd be 3 aisles ahead of him - with the carriage - and he has things he picks up and needs the carriage, because apparently he can only carry two things at a time. A few times I just let him have the carriage and I went off and got stuff because at least I can manage to carry more than just two things. And it's quicker than stopping every few aisles and waiting for him. Yeah, I get impatient.

LOL! I have a picture of what you have just described! Having a list is essential! You know what you want, you get it and you go back home. I always take a hand carriage to go around the grocery store faster, and I don't want to carry all that weight back and forth so I start from the beginning and take what I have on my list. If I see something more that I forgot to note I will take it, because I know that I won't go back for it later!

Yeah, and I don't go shopping with him anymore. Too inefficient. All that foot dragging and looking at everything. Thanks for the BR! I get so happy every time I get one. And you shop exactly like I do!

Yes, I does annoy me when people do things slowly. I am a very impatient person. BUT....Pretty much everything annoys me. I could write a book on all the things that annoy me.

Haha :) I am sure that your book will have a lot of fans! Sometimes I feel that I shouldn't be annoeys when someone slows me down but then again, if they see that I am stressed and in a hurry they can just let me do my thing and leave! Or tell me what they want later when I'll be calmed down!

I do, but I need to understand. Some people are not that efficient enough. We have our skills to improve, but some people refuse to change.

That is true, impatiente is only going to make us stress but other people are not going to change. It's hard to do this in reality though, when this moment comes, I will get impatient again!

When it comes to deadlines, the work should be delivered on time. I also think that deadlines are made to be kept and I always want to stay faithful to my schedule. I think I would also do the same!

It's annoying when people don't adapt to your needs in a certain moment. I feel angry when they are too slowly and I have to wait, but also when they rush me and pressure me especially when I don't see the point to move fast. Second option annoys me more often :P

LOL! I guess it goes both ways! :) When you are in a rush someone else might feel it's unnecassary and when you enjoy your time you feel annoyed to be pressured! I hadn't thought it from the other side, it's true!

Ditto here. I am impatient too. I find that we should use our time wisely. I always sounded my husband and my son for being so slow to wear their socks and shoes when going out. I am waiting outside and it is really hot, I tend to lose my temper easily. I would say "Hurry, hurry!"

LOL! I hate waiting as well :) If I am going out with friends and they call to postpone it for half an hour I feel really bored to wait if I am already dressed up. I usually go for a walk outside and tell them to pick me up when it's time, or I will go to the coffee shop and wait for them!

A little bit annoyed maybe, but it depends on who the slow person was. If it's one of my daughters I'll probably yell for her to speed up. If it's a friend or relatives I'll give them a little time and then tell them nicely that I'm in a hurry. But if it's my father in law (the most slow motion man I've ever met in my life ), I can't do anything about it, just wait for him to finish.

It looks like you have a different way of acting with everyone! Sometimes maybe we just have to face it with a fun mood, and wait! Because we get stressed and at the end we don't save any time!

I've thought about it as well! It's stressful and sometimes I could handle it in a different way! I find myself thinling this way and being annoyed and then I calm down and relax because there is no serious reason to be annoyed! It's juat because of the pressure of the moment probably!

As for me, i truly value my time specially when it comes to work accomplishment. Yes, I get annoyed when someone wasted my time for a non sense but i guess there are people who loves to waste time and malinger around. I have a friend who is truly doesnt stick to time appointments. If the meet up time is 9 o clock, she will arrived 1 hour late and it doesnt bother her when everyone waited for her and she has cause a lot of inconveniences to others. I always scolded her for the kind of person she is. And people like these are irresponsible i guess for they have no self discipline at all.

I do get annoyed but only when I am already having a bad day or I am in a hurry or doing something really important. I don't get annoyed too easily anyway, but I do admit that sometimes there are really people who seemed hell-bent on making you upset, like they would rub in your face that you are working hard while they're having it easy and it's fine that way. I just do what I need to do and go on my way.

That is the best attitude. I have noticed through the years the people that mind their own business and work hard witout caring about what others do or think, are the ones that move forward and achieve!

This happen every time on atm booths or when you are in banks. There are those people that talk while working without noticing that there are many people are on the line waiting. When I am on atm booth I experience waiting to a person that has many transactions. meaning she holds not only one atm but 5 different atm cards that she all withdraw the content of it. I think it takes her 30 to 45 mins. on the booth having balance inquiry and withdrawing. I did nothing because i don't want to distroy my day. lol

In the bank it's ok because we have a priority number's system so I get mine and if it's too far from the current one, I go for a walk or take a coffee from a coffee shop nearby and wait for my number to come. I don't have the patience to wait for an ATM though, when it's my turn I do everything very fast especially if people are waiting behind me. So I am expecting for others to do the same. If someone is very very late I leave and find another bank nearby. I prefer walking for some distance than waiting for 30 mins in front of the ATM.

Yes, like you do, If I do something, I am into focus and I do not want to be disturb by anyone. And if I am in a hurry and if someone asks for my opinion, I think I can give them a seconds only not so much time for I am too impatient for that matter.

I would prefer to give a full opinion later than give it fast just to make my mother happy. She gets annoyed when I leave like that but I would like to take a good look and give my honest opinion. My impatience might look weird to others but I think that most people get impatient when it comes to their work or when they are in a hurry!

Yes, if I am in a hurry, but if not. I don't really care. A co worker whom I can not understand "why" is just like this here. We have free lunch at work, and she's the one preparing or in charge of the meal. I can't understand why she can't ask the canteen to serve good food. What she is doing? She has been bringing her own food and eat it during lunch. and after eating her food she will "slowly put" her lunch-share in her lunch box and she will tell me it is for the chicken. Whaaaaaat? You are asking us to eat this food that you are intending to feed for your chicken? LOL such I really can't understand. I don't know if I will be offended. but oh well I just don't mind. It is her anyway. why make a big fuzz out of it, but isn't that weird?

It sounds weird indeed! Does she feed her chicken with the lunch food from work? I think chicken eat specific food, like lettuce and other vegetables, bread piecies etc. It's the best way to deal with it, when you don't care. If you look at everyone closely you will see that we all have some weird habits! I don't know if I mentioned it specifically but this happens when I am in a hurry too! If I am not, I don't really care. I might as well enjoy it!
