I usually use more on texting to my family than calling. As what you have reason out that texting is really cheaper than calling. We cannot really afford to always have a call. i guess that it would be enough just to text as long as they received what i wanted to say.

Right jez! if you have enough money and if that thing is really important then better call them than to text to make sure that they will be informed right away.

Since you made mention that you only use your cellphone for important purposes, I suggest you use it for calling. You might want to consider using it as a phone rather than as a text gadget since if you call you can save some of your current balance as opposed to calling over a telephone. Since we all have internet connection nowadays, you can always use your computer for writing your family members. And you can also use it if you want to communicate with them via video chat.

yes,i agree that but phone is easy when it is rush.if you use a internet maybe they are not online too,or even you leave a message you don't know when they read it..so,landline or mobile is the choices:)

Well i usually don't make a text or calls, i just do if there is something really important to tell. Probably i chose texting than calling coz it is much cheaper, but somehow if you texted but you really want a reply and you don't get one therefore you must really make a call for that person so that you can be sure that he will know what you wanted to say.

I usually send a text to my family just to ask how are they. But I call them once in a while. So I am more on texting if there is no emergency. It is more cheaper than to call them.

It depends according to what situation you are in, I mean in case of real emergencies, you just can't wait to see the person's replies to come in, rather you would really want to call and say the emergency thing which is more substantial. I normally prefer calling basically, because in our country there isn't much difference in the rates unless you have got some call rate cutters of free SMS packs, also the fact that you are able to explain things and at the same time hear the response from the other side of the phone also. Have a nice day!!

If I am in a bad situation, I prefer calling and I can speak to someone directly and make my point clear. Sometimes, texting is good. You can text someone with the words you are not willing to speak directly. It is a good way to communicate, especially at night. You can change your opion whin others. There is no sound, but he can know you.

normally for quick messages or speech messages can be useful and practical from this point of view naturally if you must talk really so make a real discussion with a person so just typing messages can be uncomfortable and in this case a voice call can be much better..

I personally prefer calling over text messages... I have unlimited text messaging & practically unlimited calling on my plan so cost doesn't really matter... Text messaging has its place & can be useful but it feels so impersonal to me...

I seldom make a call because it's very expensive. Texting is better. Less expense and less effort.

When I way across the sea, I am using a basic mobile. In the country where I stayed is too expensive to send text messages, it is more convenient to call instead. The country is a developing country, for such reason they are not ready to be level up in develop countries yet.
