Do you think that we need to explore outer space?

Do you think we need to explore outer space and why do you think as you do? What about the thought that this earth, in fact our whole solar system, is not going to be around forever? Will there ever be a time when humans will have to evacuate this planet in favour of a much younger one? This was the jest of a talk recently by a prominent scientist. What are your thoughts?

Hi Pose123! Yes, i do think outer space should be explored mainly being the secrets of the black hole. It's been a topic of interest to me for quite years, yet i am not able to get any valid information of the same. I believe through black holes, time and dimension can be changed and that will be of great help once we harness it's power.

I think it would be cool for people to travel in space if the world keeps getting worse then it would be great to see what is out in the univer for us weather it was new planet to live on or to just live in outer space. I would love to go to outer space weather that is in this time or not I don't know. There is all kind of reasons to go to outer space. Who knows we might not be the only things out in space there could be other life. Not saying that I believe there is other things but there is a possibility.

Hi ShyBear, I cannot imagine there not being more life out there and while I do think this planet will b around for a long time yet, like everything it will eventually die. We don't have to worry about it in our lifetime. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Blessings.

If we don't take good care of our environment and take early precautions, this might happen eventually. We need to stop being so wasteful and recycle as much as possible.

Hi Mirita, Thank you for responding and it will happen eventually, no matter what we do. Nothing lives forever, and that includes our solar system. Also, what are we going to do about the exploding population problem? Blessings.

Maybe people need to stop having so many kids. An average of 2 kids is the idea family size.

I think thAt we do need to explore outer space. there are undiscovered places just waiting to be found out. there is so much out there we just don;t know about. space is a vast universe with much to explore in it.

Yes! Not just 'to explore for explorations sake'--for 'the adventure of it'--but also for the same reasons explorers found & colonized America: to find treasures to bring back home, and to get away from worsening conditions in the mother country.

yeah absolutely we should. beside to feed our thirst of knowledge it also to do any reshearches about the universe. it must be thousands secrets and mysteries out there which are waiting for human to be solved. every little step we take in doing this gives big change to human life. as i ever read in an article, the center of the solar season, a.k.a the sun, will be exploded someday like other stars over there. as it explodes, so the system will also destroy. the scientist predicts that the sun will last for one or three billions more. the scientists describe that the earth will be very hot and no living things could live in it. so human should move to another planet if they want to continue their life.

Hi humairaku, Thank you for your response and you share my views. Our son will eventually burn out as has happened to other other stars in the past and is happening today. The universe is expanding all the time and new suns and planets are being created. I feel that we are not alone in the universe, but I doubt that we have anything to fear. Blessings.

yup. though some movies have made us scare to alien, but i do hope we can be friends with them. lol. imagine how interesting the Earth would be if we can be like what people described in MIB..lol.. the universe keep expanding and there is a limit for it to expand i think and I'm sure it will be the ending for human and the universe itself if the universe meet its limit to expand. that D-day calls doomsday. and thank God it didn't happen in last December 2012..

I think we ought to know everything about the word around us. Whether we can do something to prevent things from happening or not, I think the people deserve to know.

Trouble is, is finding a habitable planet that has the right gases, elements and stability to hold human life, and a planet that can be accessible where it can be reached. Our closest planet Mars is definitely not habitable any other planets are too far to reach in our life time. I agree that Earth will not always be around. There are limitations about exploring outer space and how far our probes can travel. I personally don't think we will find another planet we can settle on in time.

Hi wolfie, Thank you for responding but I don't think that we have to worry about another planet that can support human life. There are billions of planets out there, and while some stars and planets are always dying, new planets are also always being created. Our solar system is still relatively young and won't die anytime soon, but what about the population problem? As human beings, I think we are still in our infancy and the best is yet to be. Blessings.

Yes, I think that we need to explore space and that we are way behind in doing so. Our natural resources here on Earth are being used up at an accelerating rate why the population continues to grow at a fast pace. We are going to need the resources that can be found on other planets in our solar system. We probably will also need to terraform other suitable planets and moons and to build artificial space habitats. We are running out of time to do these things. At some point it will be too late; we will no longer have the resources to do these things in space. At that point the Earth and humans will start to die.

I think we will have to because we will eventually have to live there , the world is becoming over populated . Also we are going close to the sun so it would be best if we can search space and find ways to live there .

Yes I think we must explore it, if for no other reason then the fact that we are breeding so fast this earth will no longer be able to suppport us.

Hi savypat, Thank you for responding and that is a very good point. I was reading just today that the population of the world has doubled in the last 44 years. That is very scary - don't you think? With more then 7 billion people in the world, there is no way we can continue - in another 44 years, there won't even be standing room. We know that we are living in an ever expanding universe and new stars and planets are being created all the time. When the major breakthrough comes - and it will, we will be able to travel much faster than we can today. Blessings.

Hi Pose, I think that with the growing fear and realization that we have grossly mistreated stuff here, it has come down to "what are we going to do when?" Sooner or later our resources will be depleted and people are looking, maybe not for alternative places to go but for alternative resources that resemble our natural ones. They are hoping the planets will provide those I think. I have seen some shows where they have talked about shipping us to the moon or where ever they can find a place to sustain life. I think that if they do, it will be very political as to who goes and who stays. I saw this one show about a guy who was going to do moon tours for millions of dollars. Funny thing was he actually had some takers at the time. I wonder if he ever did that? I'll have to look that up.

Hi JenInTN, Thank you for sharing but I think we are vastly underestimating what the future may hold.I think the time will come when space travel will be the norm. Of course, our sun and even our solar system can't last forever, but that should be far into the future. Blessings.

I always believe that thought, and our earth resources can't be always bountiful forever. Sooner or later, as our human population increased over time, and we are out of place to accommodate all the human population, plus the resources will be depleted soon, we must explore an inhabitable place to live, somewhere out there, I believe other planets are similar to Earth. Hopefully, we can find such planet soon.

I always think of the movie Armageddon when this question is brought up. There is a quote along the lines of we only track 3% of the night sky and it is a pretty damn big sky. Who's to say that there is not a huge rock hurtling towards us right now. There is a good chance that humans will outgrow the planet, especially with how wasteful so many are, we may need that next planet not because our sun is dying.

Hi asyria, Thank you for sharing and you are right, there are many things that can happen. We know that no star, including our sun can live forever, but of course that's a long time down the road, as ours is still a young solar system.Blessings.

It would be so cool to be able to explore the outer space. It would be nice if in the future people could go sight seeing on the outer space, for educational purposes or just for pleasure. But I really do hope that earth wont get too old because its a very wonderful home.

I think that we should for that very reason. Earth will not last forever, and humans will need a place to go if we want the race to survive. Although I hope that this all happens well after I am gone. I am very scared of heights and that would be the ultimate fear factor for me, having to leave the planet altogether. I've even said that if the world does end up like Star Trek, I am not joining the academy and staying put right here on Earth lol. So, yes we need to explore outer space for our future generations benefit, but I'm not going lol.

Hi drknlvly, Thank you for sharing and I don't think you have to worry about it happening in your lifetime. This is a long long time into the future, but we do need to continue to learn. There is no doubt but that there are billions of planets out there and new ones are always being born. Blessings.

I will cheat and only answer the first question. I do not think we should explore outer space at all, at least not while this 'inner space' called 'earth' is in such a distressful situation regarding poverty and pollution. Let us solve our problems at home first, at least that is what I think, but I am not a scientist. It is not as though we have explored all our earth either, there are depths of the sea still unexplored. There are animals and plants still being discovered in remote places. But the worst thing of all is that people are dying of hunger in a world that can and should feed them. We neglect our own world and go looking for other worlds. there is no excuse for this.

Hi 41CombedaleRoad, Thank you for an excellent response. While I do believe in exploring outer space, I also agree with you that for the time being, we must give precedence to what's happening on the earth. This planet can produce enough food for everyone, and it's time we do something about that. Millions too are homeless and there is no need for that either. It is ridiculous that in the twenty-first century, we have not yet learned to respect each other and live together in peace, regardless of race, creed or color. We can however do all of this and still have some money to continue space exploration - and in the future we will have much more. Our solar system and the earth itself will be here for a long time yet, though it won't last forever. Blessings.

Yes I think we see what's out there? There must be something out there not just rocks and dust. If there is a way why not. Hmm.. all has its beginning and ending... yes right. Wow such a great question, will there be any evacuation in the future. Hmm... i hope not. Let us just make this world a better place for us so that there will be no massive destruction to force us to evacuate. I don't like to have a new earth to live in the future. I am okay with my world now. I am contented to see the green and mountains here in Thailand, where I am now. such a great place. Maybe that will be the future generations concern, I am about to finish my journey here on earth, around 20 years more. but i may not be able to see the soil in Mars or the winter in Pluto.

Hi Mavic, Thank you for responding and I'm sure that an evacuation of the earth won't come in out lifetime, so you don't have to worry about leaving your beautiful countryside for either Mars or Pluto. Of course nothing lasts forever, so eventually our solar system, including the earth and sun will self destruct, just as has happened to millions of other stars and planets. We have much to do here first to make life on this planet better for everyone, but yes, continue exploring outer space too. Blessings.

I think there is nothing wrong for those explorers to discover new about outer space, it will made as more knowledgeable. Don't know where to stand about the conclusion that this Earth will gone in the future. There's no one mortal that can tell about our planets ending to be exact. But God is powerful, he is the only we should rely on...
