India
November 28, 2012 11:52pm CST
Dear Friends, I do not know who started this hoax, but it has moved up the minds of the public very fast. Many non-believers have turned believers. Several people are all consumed by panic, tension. And preparations like bunks, stockpiling etc., are reported from around the world, as well as commercialization of these CUSTOMIZED preparedness and their packages. I strongly believe that this is all just a hoax, and I will be sipping a hot coffee in the comfort of my home in Bangalore on December 22, 2012 (a day after the reported END OF DAYS. What do you say?

I am also feeling relax no stress about 21st because one day God can call us and that day may be any day then why you spoil our current day for future days. I believe on today not tomorrow. May be my number will be in God list and they can call me but I am happy and wish they should call me than any other my sweet family members.

It's sort of like that 'ONLY AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED TIME!' marketing-ploy for churches that are "selling salvation" (not like the Catholic Church used to sell 'indulgences' (Get-Out-of-Hell-FREE cards but rather 'selling unsaved people on their "need" to secure re-entry into the family of G*d')

I am going about this from a religious point of view first. The bible clearly says that no one know the exact time that the END OF DAYS will come/begin so that just rules out people saying that the world is going to end. From a logical point of view what sense does it make to believe that a calendar made by an ancient civilization is actually fact. Did any one stop and think that maybe the mayans ended the calendar on december 22, 2012 because they were alive at such an early time in history that they though "hey I think we went forward far enough plus we are running out of room for all of these days" " Yeah we can deal with making a new calender when we get there". Sadly they never made it. One might say " then why does it end on the 22nd and not the 31st" well it is because the way that they mayans measured time is not the same way that we do so it wont correlate with our calendar exactly. That is all I have to say on this topic because it really makes me lose hope in the human race when people fall for these sort if things.

The end of the world prediction was basically based on the Mayan calendar, but even Mayan scholars dispute this, saying that people had misinterpreted the end of the Mayan calendar cycle as the end of the world. But whatever it is, I'm not really that concerned about this. My pressing concern is how to put food on the table for my family, and that means focusing on my work instead of doomsday predictions

nobody has the power to truly know when the end of the world is coming., so many people get scared by the decision made by announcing such a date. that should be taken into consideration by others .

It's a big hoax. I do believe that no human can really tell fortunes, let alone this precisely. There's gonna be no end of the world in 2012 December. Some funny people say this: there's gonna be no end of the world in 2012 December, because future Ted Mosby LIVES in 2030!!! (How I Met Your Mother reference... awesome show btw). Oh, and we have an "End of the World Afterparty" event on Facebook, well in my country, we do! :D It's just a tool for companies to earn more money... some frigthened people would day a lot for travelling, for bungee jumping, for crazy things that they were afraid to try, but now, they would, as "what's gonna happen if I die? The world's gonna end in a month anyway"... and of course, for the people in the movie industry, for example, that idiotic 2012 movie.
