Being a teacher is a happy thing and we can be more younger because students are all so pure. I used to be a teacher but now I do not take this as my career. I came across some nauthy students and they really get me mad. I prepare for the lesson over night and when I teach in the class, they just ignore what I am talking about and even talk louder than me. some students may play Poker in the class. It is really hard for me to educate them. They do this not because they do not like my class, just for fun. i can understand. but if I do not say it is not good for their study. one day they will hate me and say why do you not educate me when i am wrong, it is all about you. How terrible. if you come across naughty students, what will you do? will you punish them as you wish they will get some punishment and they will listen to you again? will you believe?

Im not a teacher but I agree in giving punishments. This will actually help the students to realize their mistakes. But there are lots of kinds of punishments and it depends on what particular kind of punishment are you gonna use. And also what kind of students are you handling. Knowing your students aside from their names can give you an idea on how to deal with the and that why are they acting such a behavior.

Since I do not have some working experiences as a teacher so may be I can not answer your question clearly, but I think, interest is the best teacher and why those naughty students do not willing to listen to your course may be is because they do not have enough interests. So why not to develop their interests and relate to your course?
By the way,I am very curious why you do not be a teacher any more?As for me I really want to be a teacher due to we can have two long vacation and besides this career is more stable than others. As you know now almost all the jobs is not easy and there are many laid off plan occur in this year. There are so many workers want to have a stable job such as teacher.

yes, interest is the best teacher. I do want to be a teacher, but being an excellent interpreter is my final dream.

I know what you're talking about. The kids in my ex-class were the same too. They were playing cards, doing make-up, listening to music. And I also understand your concern about that they are going to be mad at you when they have their final exams, and know nothing, they are going to blame you. I had a teacher who didn't even teach us but told stories to look cool... and those chose his subject for the final exam, suffered a lot because he didn't teach ANYTHING... I think a teacher should have the kids' future in mind, not her own current reputation. I would say, try to punish them and bring in sanctions. Take their stuff away (at least for the teaching day), because they have no right to play poker in the classroom. Also, I don't know about your country's education system, but mine has different written warnings, which could evolve in firing if a kid collects too much. Also, you CAN raise your voice and tell them to shut up. Well, they should be aware of that you have authority over you and they should respect you, and that their deeds have consequences - just like in real life, in a workplace. School's aim is supposed to be to prepare the kids for real life, anyways.

being a teacher, everything we should concern about is their future. in my country, if students are too naughty, teachers will punish them in many ways, like cleaning the classroom for a week, stand one hour without move one stand. thanks for your response

No no punishing the small kids make their behavior tough, we need to learn them slowly, I read a book written by an expert teacher, in that book there is a line saying to teach kids we should become kids make them happy, for kids learning should a play game, than only they show interest, kids need fun in the class, since there is no fun in the class, they are making their own fun, of you. If you teach them in some funniest way than they will be silent. It is of course a common experience for every teacher. I never punish them. Punishing kids not at all good.

proper punishment may work on some students. be the kid and play with them and then teach something fun in the class, they will be silent. Right? Good idea. thanks for your response.

As a teacher, you should learn the student psychology. They do this mostly because they want to catch somebody's attention, more specially you. what you should do is
1. Ignore their pranks in such a way as if what they did is NEGLECTED.
2. Support their ego in a positive manner - that leads to motivation. Select any one of them and give him a small task to do... Then the other people in his peer-group will also be silently inwardly yearning to have an assignment. Mass-assignment is waste - give them individual assignment at separate times and you are dividing them yet prodding them into the right direction.
3. Dont punish them for any reason - you are serving their purpose by doing that.

I wouldn't worry about if the kids liked you or not, you aren't there to be their friend. I would tell them they can do the things they want after they learn what they are supposed to learn. Playing games and doing makeup does nothing for their futures. I remember thinking as a kid there was no reason for me to be in school, I thought I knew everything and it turns out, many years later I realized I will never know everything but it never hurts to try to learn as much as I can!

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well glad to hear that u were a teacher once. No doubt teaching is one of the most pious profession on earth but there are also some constraints that come along with it.
u had to be patient while dealing with the students because we have to come in contact with all types of students and we have to be sensible and matured enough to handle them. i would have definitely punished them or would have rusticated them from the school or college if they would cross their limits.
What say?

If Im going to have those naughty students just like yours I would give them time to play & be themselves first before teaching them lessons in class. Most teenagers dont like school so you should adjust to their level somehow. But in the end, you are the teacher, you are responsible for the leasons they should learn. Just do your best, and dont get too affected when your students become naughty. It's not your fault if they get a failing grade because they're the ones making them.
