Oh, I thought you loved your new workmates? Well, if they criticize you, you have to take it as a challenge, at least that's what I am doing. I don't put those criticisms as something that could lower me down. I take it as a challenge to do good and bee good because those are the things that makes me a better person. But, if what I am doing is correct but still they criticize me well, that's another story. I will be confronting that person and ask why he/she is doing it to me.

Personally I think this happens no matter where a person works and it can be quite frustrating. I know you will always have people always trying to find fault to make themselves look good and keep themselves on top, but in reality they could be hurt themselves and the company they worm for. I think the best thing is go with the flow, do the best that you can and in doubt don't be afraid to ask questions.

When I worked at the hospital, this was something that drove me absolutely insane. The reason that it drove me insane was because I know that I am human and there are times that I will make mistakes. However, I was also quite aware of the fact that the people that I worked with would make mistakes as well and I would never say anything to them about it unless I saw them doing something that would put the lives of their patients in danger.

It depends on how it is delivered to me. I often get some advice on my performance and activities while at work. I accept them on whatever form they come in because feedback is walkways good. I try to be neutral when receiving it because I can't always count on the sender to be as objective as possible.

Hi wong!
When I heard the word criticize, it connotes negative meaning for me. Personally, I am still a new employee of the department I am presently working with. Although I am not very familiar with the work, still my co employees, especially those who are already in the service for decades, are very supportive of me. They may give feedback but not in a way that would hurt me in one way or another. It is understandable that since we are new, we don't understand everything in one sitting.

I feel the same too.
Yes, being newbie in a working place we feel like we are not doing the right thing.
But yes, the old ones must consider that we are still trying to figure out the new system(work) therefore, they must be polite to tell us what to do and what are the right things to do.
Criticizing others is not good ...

Well better tell it in a nice way or constructive way than criticizing as if they know everything already. Telling it in a polite and nice way could somehow help to make the work better and correct. So far never experienced it in my job, but what I experienced was someone was look after clothes that I wear at work, sound funny and weird but I dont want to be bothered about it.

When I hear criticisms from my colleagues, my first reaction is to feel really down. But, put in mind that criticisms can also help you improve. Criticisms can either make or break you. In whatever circumstance, be magnanimous. It does matter if you get less or more criticisms what matters more is that you have done your best. You cannot please everyone else so whatever you do there will always be someone who would question your potential. Just keep your head high. :)
