How Do We Teach Infants to Breathe?

I know it's probably something humans do instinctively, but is there any trick parents can use to stimulate healthy breathing? Sometimes babies just want to scream, and I don't imagine they're thinking about breathing!

I have read that infants sometimes cry the way they do to exercise their lungs..lol. They are doing their own stimulating. It's just not so openly cheered for as an adult's form of exercise.

That's an idea. I bet we could all use some lung exercising sometimes

Although we call it 'singing' when we adults do it.

Hey Maybe that's a good idea for exercise you can do at home sitting in front of the computer (NOT in the library, coffeehouse or computer-lab! )

I heard fro some lovely mothers, to help the child to breathe properly; let them cry to expand their lungs of inhaling the air and breathes it out. I guess, mothers know best.

When a baby screams and act as if he/she wouldn't breathe, you just relax and carry them in front of the electric fan. Don't panic. My aunt used to do that (panic) with my cousin when he was younger. He would cry his head off and literally turn blue and she'd start panicking. It wasn't until she discovered that all she needed to do was to face him in front of the electric fan and then just calm down - unless of course there's a blockage of air or something. But generally, it works. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

I don't remember if any one taught me to breathe, until I knew about the breathing techniques which the Yoga teachers teach. Everyone breathe even when they are in the mother's womb. It is a sub conscious phenomenon, which we don't know it happening, until someone close our nose. I think it is good to know the artificial breathing techniques if one do not have a proper breathing techniques.

Breathing is something that just happens. I dont think it is something that needs to be taught.

That's why I explained it in the description.

If the kid is holding thier breath, wait. They'll either take a new one or pass out. once they do pass out, the breathing reflex kicks in.
