Over fifteen years ago, I was your average overweight, sci-fi watching, heavy metal listening geek. I didn't have a boyfriend, girls hated me because I developed early (and after bumping into them years later, they're still hating on me) and I was a virgin. What gets me is that the smallest detail/details that I come across, I have instant flashbacks on how many people laughed at me during band practice or how many times I fell down the stairs, or...well, you get the idea.
Now, times are different and I'm still overweight, still watching sci-fi, listening to more metal than ever, and I'm advanced in the sack. I don't know what to mention to my hypothetical children (if I have any) about how school was like for Mommy. If I scare them away saying that high school was a complete nightmare for me, they may have the same inkling about it like I do.

I hated my highschool life too. I went to a chinese school so there is a culture gap being me as a Filipino. I never had the chance to mingle with them well. They are kind but they are always busy because after the english department class, they have to attend their chinese class.
I am bullied then too by my Filipino classmates.

People have different ways of living life. You may have a "not so common" way that others find it odd. But I ave respect for people like you. I just pity those people who doesn't know how to show their understanding with people who are not like them.

Overweight? How many pounds do you have? You should maintain your body and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. You can do an exercise. Just forget your high school days.
I am 50/50 hate or like high school life. My classmates and even schoolmates were teasing me. So, I have to move on now an I have my bachelor's degree.

My days in high school was the golden period of my life. All my teachers were very cooperative and friendly. They were always ready to help us whenever we were in difficulty.I made a lot of new friends there. Now if you ask me about my student life,I would say that my high school period was the golden period of my student life.

The feeling is so intense during your high school days. I know where it is coming from. When I was in secondary level, I was not that active much. I am silent-type person during that time. I got started to bloom before graduation and my self-esteem boosts up in college days. I may have some bully characters in high school, whenever I cross way on the street I far better than them.

In high school, I was your typical nerdy weirdo. I was the kid who was into sci-fi/fantasy, anime, and video games, which made people tease for me for constantly talking about my interests. But that is just who I was and it was difficult trying to adjust to some bullying now and then. I often tried so hard to mingle with the popular social cliques but failed miserably. I was also good at math, which made me an easy target for people using me for answers. However, high school was not all bad. I joined some after school clubs and met people who shared my nerdy interests. I am happy to say that I am still friends with them to this day. So while my experience in high school did have negative points, I also had some positive points.

High school is over, you don't have to keep living it. Your kids (hypothetically speaking) will have their own lives, they won't live yours because subconsciously you see to it that they don't. I didn't like high school, I thought it was a waste of time, I wanted to go to college and be somebody not act like I was somebody to make me popular. Most people think Jr. High is the worst, and it can be, but high school is over.

High school can be a very cruel place for adolescence. I was also an awkward high schooler because I was super thin, really thin like only 90 lbs. or even lighter, and I had pimples. Naturally I was the shy leaf when it comes to boys but in reality I was funny with my girl friends. I was fond of joking but when it came to boys I was the shy leaf.

I get what you are talking exactly what you mean. I have mean overweight my whole life and well kids can be cruel. My high school experience has no been that bad in the sense that I was picked on because the high school I attend is very accepting but that is not to say that there are not the typical group like the jocks, band geeks, and nerds. I actually had a really bad time in middle school so some reason no matter how much I tried some people just felt like it was their job in life to make my life hell. They way I see it High school is the place were we get to learn the way the real world will look like. Taking about running it to people years later I meet this girl that was the head of make my life hell team and she acted as if nothing had ever happened between us which was really awkward for me I;m not sure about her. As for my kids I really hope that when the do go to high school that it will not suck for them I want it to be a good time for them because it is the last years of their childhood before the real world hits them in the face.
