I know I have a big well-modulated voice. I like to think that I have a similar voice with Julie Cheng of The Talk. I know that some people have very thin shrill voices while others also have very low voice like the voice of a man. I think I am lucky to have a well-modulated speaking voice. How about you?

My speaking voice is very thin and high. Although i am a guy but i have no idea why my voice sounds like a girl. Not really happy with that i guess

Oh. It must be the shape or size of your vocal chords. I am just guessing.

When I was 18 I was trained to be a telephonist at British Telecom, so I had to adopt a professional, confident air when I spoke, it taught me a lot, how to be sympathetic, how to be caring but professional and how also to be polite. So my voice came across, clear, concise and professional, otherwise I wouldn't have been employed as a telephone operator.

Wow, it is good to know that, Wolfie. I can almost hear your British accent now.

I've been told that I have a nice speaking voice. I think that teaching has helped me develop this and I am more aware of my phrasing, tone, and pace.

Yeah, teaching does help one develop the speaking voice.
