I dont know what this name fruit in english but our local here called it 'dabai'. This fruit is only in Borneo. In Brunei this fruit they called as 'kembayau' and we all Sarawakians called it buah dabai(dabai fruit). It mainly found in Sarawak especially in Sibu city. First things you must do before you can eat this fruit is rinse it then soak in lukewarm water until it softens. Put and mix salt or black soy sauce in this fruit. The yellowish of this fruit taste creamy. You can eat this fruit with a rice. Do you know about this fruit and do you have experience eat this fruit?

Hi akamaru! If I am not mistaken, I know that fruit. We call that pili in our local dialect and if I am not mistaken it is also called pili nut. Well, that is one of the product of our province. In fact, we have a lot of trees in my grand father's farm. Aside from the cover, the most delicious part of it is the nut which we made into sweets or candy. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I just rely on the picture.

If it has a shell after you ate the cover, then it might be. You may try to search for pili nut in shell picture. We eat the fruit the same as you did. Then the shell, we break it using bolo or a big butcher knife. Inside it is the pili nut which we can eat as it is or we can make a candy out of it. We call it pili nut candy.
