How To Escape From Depressing Thoughts About Situations In Life?

God Almighty never gives a person more than they can bear. God Almighty will never put a burden on you more than you can handle. Believe that you are strong enough to handle the situations in your life. The question should be, What does God Almighty want to teach me from what is happening in my life? What is the purpose of these trials in life? God Almighty trials those whom he loves. The reason we have difficulties is because it is during difficulties that a person remembers God Almighty and goes back to Him. When God Almighty wants you to go back to Him, He sends difficulties that humble you and put you down on your knees. So trials and difficulties are really blessings in disguise. Once, you believe that. You will have an easier time accepting the situation in your life and you will not get sad or depressed about them. In fact , you will remember God Almighty more and Thank Him for choosing you. This will allow you to focus and remember God Almighty more, which is the key of success in life.

HI warda: These are very kind words. As you said n your discussion, it's not about escaping depressing thoughts and bad moments. It's all about how we face it and what can we learn from these situations what make us stronger and better. ALVARO

I wish to say something but it's just the lovely words cite from al-baqarah which I use to cite it after my prays. This is the central believe of how God manage their creation. The last hope of human beings. In other word, "redha" with what God fate on us. The good lesson here is that never feel demotivated when you fail or having difficulties in life. It's all God trials on you. Accept it with open heart and believe that there's something hidden the advantage of all bad incident that happened in our life.

This made me think of an old girl named Velma. We have a time for praises-&-prayers at our Church-Fellowship, where anyone with troubles or victories on their mind can stand up and announce them to 'God' (really, to all the other people there ). It seems like every Sabbath, Velma is standing up announcing how 'she needs a car' & how 'she & her daughter have Type-2 Diabetes' and how 'she's going in for surgery on her eye or -bladder.' Makes me feel like telling her (though she'll forget, as it's not a part of her body or something) the 'secret'---that after you pray about it ONCE, God will take care of it; but if he makes you feel you have to pray about it again, God wants YOU to 'do something' (either figure out how to get what you think you need or realize that you don't need it).

mythociate I agree with what yiu said about having to do something ourselves, but this also reminds me of something I heard. Someone said just keep asking God for what you want and pretty soon He will get tired of hearing you ask and grant it..kind of like the squeaky wheel approach

Um, no. G*d gives you what he gives you before you even know whether you want it or not! 'Keeping-on asking for it' is like the infant crying for a bottle that's on the floor next to where it is sitting.

warda786 Great reminder to everyone. Sometimes we forget we have choice whether to give in and wallow in depression and worry or to actively think our way out of negative feelings. Sometimes it takes awhile but it is always worth the effort... Prayer and meditaion are excellent to remind us we have blessings as well as challenges. Sometimes we just need to literally get down on our knees and say..God I need help...He will always hear us.. God Bless everyone...

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well tensions, worries, misunderstandings and depression are part and parcel of every individual and we have to deal with them in a proper way so that they do not take control of our personal lives in a negative way. We have to be strong enough to stand firmly and face all types of situation. if we are unable to sort out the very reason of our depression then we cannot stand firmly in our future also. So we should always have faith on ourselves and sought the advise of our elders and remove the cause of depression in our life. What say?

I've suffered from down days but not actual depression but I can empathize when it comes to it, what gets me in the negative light is the fact that there's hardly any work here in England so I can't full fill the things I want to achieve like travelling across the world or perhaps buy a nice house etc but I'm also optimistic which to me is one vital key in order to combat negative light and perhaps depression too.

Thanks for this inspiring and self help topic. I agree with you. God will not give a person a burden he can't bear. We really have to trust Him in everything and that He is in control of what's happening in our lives. God Bless

Very well said... Prayers are really important and trusting God more and more is the best to all of us. I am so glad to this topic of yours. Life really is so challenging and we encounter everyday different tasks. Some are so depressing but what matter is our positive outlook in life. It is so nice to think good things rather than bad. Everything happens for a reason and we must see the positive side of everything even how bad it is...

Yes, God is so good that He will never leave our side. In a song "Footprints in the Sand by Leona Lewis" there's a lyrics there that goes: Then I hear You say, "I promise you, I'm always there, when you're heart is filled with sorrow and despair. I'll carry you when you need a friend, you'll find My footprints in the sand"...:)

I agree. It's all about the human beings heart. The exam, test, etc in our life will make us knowing about our heart quality. How a high we can reach the top score. So, i suggest my self to keep my heart always. Absolutely, i'm still have many sins. But, i believe that i'll keep my heart optimally to reach the top score of mine. It's my way to escape from depression.
