many people, especially the catholic filipinos, noticed that manny pacquiao has changed in terms of religion...this year, he lost 2 fights with his sudden big change.. some people say it's because he switched to other religion..and he's somewhat building his own pastoral council (or whatsoever it is called, some even say he's trying to build his own religion)..some people say that it's not...and religion has nothing to do with it... in my opinion..religion has something to do with our faith...switching to other religion means our faith wasn't that strong enough...and with whatever religion we have, it may considered a sin when we switch to other religion...and there are always reasons behind the action...i think all religions has some writings about that... in catholic church and also in some religions(that i don't know), i always hear from the priests/pastors that our Creator gives us challenges to make us strong...and gives us challenges to remind us to go back to Him..and nothing is impossible with our faith in Him... Therefore, it's not the religion...but it's his faith...and it's not putting the blame to others/something...

It's just a game. It has nothing to with religion at all. Everybody can see if you just know how to read the moves, that a mistake was there. He has no defenses that time, and was very open to collide with his opponent's punch. I am a Catholic myself but I also do respect other religion as long as we believe in the same God. They were also saying that because Manny was not wearing his rosary is the reason of his loss. The rosary has nothing to do with his game. A rosary is also just a symbol, and should not be worshipped. What is important is he still did not forget to pray before the game started. He is praying to the same God when he was still a Catholic. And it is not a sin to convert to another religion. That is not written in the bible. It's in the human's comfort. But if you switched to believe in Satan instead of the Lord, then that's a different story.

It has nothing to do with ones beliefs. It is a game and there will be a winner and a loser. The thing is they are both sports. That is the essence of a game. There is a sportsmanship. Have a nice day!

Hi, One we miss is the continuity of our acts. We are governed by action-reaction universal laws and going against it can cause adverse effects upon the intended outcome. Pacman started with almost nothing but by his constant devotion to his "religion" he rose to where he is now. When he went out to change the ways of his success, he need to go back to the beginning, down to where he started from and that what is happening now.

Definitely it is not the religion that caused Manny's defeat. Do we really think that God will listen to a boxers' prayers to win a fight? I believe that both boxers pray and would God choose the winner depending how hard they pray or depending on their religion? God does not approve violence, hurting, and in my opinion, boxing belongs to that.

Its sports that sometimes win, sometimes lose.No matter whats the religion of the person its still their faith and themselves if the wanted to win or not.It still based on the perseverance and determination of the person to win a game.So better not pointing people to blame on the matter.Just accept it and move on.

My mother said the same thing. Manny showed more faith in the Lord back then. And switching religions, I don't think it really matters because we all worship the same God. I notice that religious groups have their own way of practicing their faith. Some practices are not approved in some religious group while these practices might me acceptable in some. People can be so sensitive and irrational when it comes to religion. Sometimes I don't even think it is faith any more, but pride in their own religion. These are very different. People should just mind their own business and stop jumping to irrational conclusions.

Manny won the last fight he lost by decision. He was clearly robbed, and there was a year-long stink about it in the boxing world. In this past fight, he got caught slippin' and Marquez landed a crippling right on Manny's chin -- the same kind of punch--albeit a little less powerful--that Manny has landed on many others, like Ricky Hatton. It happens. It's far more likely that Manny hasn't been devoting as much of himself to boxing now that he's in the political arena.

I agree religion has nothing to do with it is has to do with his hard work and maybe the mindset he was in during the fights. This reminds me of the election, I know that some people were praying for a particular candidate to win. They were saying that if their candidate did not win that God would be letting a lot of people down. If people would stop believing in their religion because of something as trivial as an election. We have one every four years sometimes the one you want win and sometimes they don't.

Regardless of the changes of his religion beliefs and religion itself, it is not the reason for being a loser from the previous fight. I am not a fun of this boxer, simple because of the changes happening to him, the senseless decision is starting to engulf his real humble identity.

Its just a sport.. even the best teams lose to the bad ones now and then. Just like here in Mexico they are going=crazy because our boxer beat manny. They forget it took 4 fights vs him to beat him. Take care there.

It is not right to put the blame to anything or anyone because of losing. Manny is the boxer and not the religion he was into. It is not fair... Although I am not a religious one I still have my own faith and beliefs. However, Manny lose the game but it is not a fact that religion is an issue here. He lose the game because he lose it, no more elaboration, no more pointing fingers. Manny is suffering now for that lose and as a human we need to symphatize and stop the accusation.
