I hate people circulating false information

I just hate those people who tried to circulate false information. At work, especially those girls, they circulate information that never got confirmed. They simply heard it from rumor. For instance, recently, one girl told me that this year Christmas party will be cancelled. But it turns out to be, the Christmas party will be held on this weekend, the only change is that this party not gonna invite temp employees. So, that just wrong when I got the invitation from my supervisor on Monday. I just can't trust those people again, since they spread out those information without any verification. Once again, don't fully trust rumor, wait and see or seek other reliable source for that information.

It could be that girl just got it wrong and did not mean any harm.I do know what you mean about false rumours , people that eavesdrop then get the wrong end of the stick.I suppose it happens everwhere sometimes. If it is really important to you go to the horses mouth and find out for yourself.

Those girls may not trying to spread rumor, it may have turn out they just didn't bother to check out the information and verify it, before telling other people about it, it is merely unintentional on their part, i probably will not go down too hard on them. Some people just don't like to spend some effort/time to confirm any information they received, due to various reasons, it is just the way it is for some people, they tend to accept whatever being passed on as genuine one, instead of every reason to believe it is a rumor. Sigh@!

They are nibblers my friend. I do ignore that kind of attitudes, but if it is beyond the line of doing so. It needs to have a necessary actions. If I were in your position, I go straight to the higher ups and file a formal complain about this.

Hello I don't easily believe and trust rumor like you. I guess it's normal to work in the office and some people will create that just for fun which is not really good. Good thing that you got the right information from your supervisor. Yes, it's a lesson to learn that we need to seek for reliable source not just relying on rumors.. Thanks for posting..

If it is gossip, pay no never mind to it. Always confirm what you heard from others. You are right, always confirm what you heard from others. Saves a lot of grief and confusion. Then be sure that what you tell others is indeed the honest truth. Or at least, tell people that what you say needs to be confirmed by the manager. Be nice to the others at work and they will know you as an honest and kind person.

That doesn't surprise me..things float around an office all the time. I always confirm what is going on just to be on the safe side. I don't work anymore, but I do remember things like that happening and it was all false information. Same thing with the internet, or your emails. Half the time what you're getting is a bunch of junk that people believe happened. Check with Snopes.com and you'll find out it's a bunch of garbage. If it doesn't sound real to me, I check it out and do not pass on all that gossip.

I'm not going to tell you to take it easy because I know how irritating it can be being caught in such a situation. Some people possess such an ill-tempered tongue that no bridle can curb it. Maybe that is why they just had to spread something without evidence. They are simply not bothered about the consequences of their action. I'd say be more cautious next time and collect your information from the right person.

I think the reason those girls doesn't tell you the truth is because they wanted to be with regular employees that they are comfortable with. Or they're spreading rumor because they really not confirm it to the ones who know it well enough. At my work before, there were girls who exaggerate my attitude to supervisors that in turn it makes me bad and unsatisfied in the eyes of others. They were girls and I think they were just insecure of me and doesn't know how to do something good in their lame lives. At work, you must work professionally. If there is something wrong to a certain job, you must directly say to the person what was wrong, not spreading bad rumors about you because its not a good habit. So next time, confirm an information if its true rather believing an information which is a rumor. Merry Christmas!

Such things happen everywhere and all the time. You just can't stay out of such things now and it is actually becoming a part of the regular talks. Earlier people used to not encourage such things, but now a days people have learnt to ignore something like this and people who are doing this is not afraid of being taken action against them. That is why it is being done more often than earlier. It is best for us to ignore such things and let go. you can't keep pondering and waste your time on such people. It will only make your mood go off.

I think people like to spread wrong information just for the fun of it. I just cant stand such behavior. In my experience i have always noticed its always the females who tend to this rather than men and they even get away with it easily. Things what i have heard about offices ,they spread wrong stuff on purpose for selfish reasons too. Just to spoil someone elses image ,pretty disturbing rumors are spread and its hilarious people even believe such stuff.
