Im a student too but I never mocked at diligent student who spend her days and nights in library. But for me being a student is not only about school grades but also I need to maintain the balance between study and social life, getting a good grade is important but to socialize with other is also important because it can train my communication skill. I know some students really hate to study and some students really fond of studying, as long as both side respect each other I think there shouldnt be a problem. Maybe you got it wrong, maybe they dont mean to provoke you to not study and they just ask you to hang out and socialize with them, it could be just a miscommunication you can refuse their invitation in a nice way, dont lecture them about study about them being lazy etc because it could lead them to mock you as a nerd. But if you think they dont understand you and still mocking you, just ignore them.

yes of course you are right student should study well and get good grades. But times are changed now many are working while studying. Students ant to earn and save for the rainy day. This is definitely a good change.

This is so true; people do put an impression of being such of a nerd if you go more effort in your academics. It’s not that you are such of a nerd, however it does helps in pulling off a good grade and the better part of it is that you are gaining more knowledge on certain academic subjects. Somehow such people are just living a lax life and just go over what some society does tells, which is enjoying life and freedom without even taking education as consideration. Somehow this life is just happening in movies, and in reality, you need to fill up an educational attainment rather than just go over partying and not studying.
