Well seeing as I am currently unemployed, I have been work from home on the internet in an effort to make some extra money. Tonight, I find myself pondering a new benefit of working from home, that being I will not have to deal with the messy morning commute that comes with the rain. Tonight, it is pouring down rain. While on the news, they were talking about whether the storm would make a mess out of the morning commute. It is nice to not have to fret over that little detail. How about you what little things make you glad that you work from home?

Well said! I would add to that there no no work related stress like you have when you are working for a boss or company. It is nice not to have the pressure of extreme work loads that have to be performed by some looming deadline.

True, it is nice to be able to set your own hours. That type of freedom does not come in any other type of job. Even if you have one of those exempt type of jobs, you still have to be there early or stay late for meetings. It is amazing how the 40 hour work week has stretched into the 60+ hour week with most people work 10 - 12 hour days, and you still end up taking work home at night and on the weekends.

The things that make me glad to work from home are time freedom, convenient and low capital. I got time freedom whereby I can do my work at anytime like if I want to go somewhere I can just go out and just come back to work at my own space, and no deadlines like at the place the boss will push you to be faster. I said convenient because it is done at home no need face traffic jams or worried about public transport thinking why the bus so long didn't come could it be breakdown or what. It is low capital because anyone can afford. All you need is a computer with internet connection to start off. There are many programs on the internet we can joined. Some of them are free, and some of them need membership fees. Eventhough, we would need to pay for the fee, it also shouldn't be any problem because it is low and affordable. That's the things I see that benefits me for working from home.

i really prefer to work from home rather than waking up early in the morning, stressing myself with the pollution because of commuting, accepting tasks from the bosses will not be appreciated in the end and going home late and tired. Even though my salary is really worth it, i really wanted to work online or at home because I know i can give quality time to my child and also i can relax anytime.

Yes, it nice not to have to get up super early. It is nice that you are able to spend quality time with your children. I think after the events of today their are a lot of parents cherishing every moment that they get to spend with their children. I am not sure if you heard about the tragic shooting at a elementary school in Connecticut where 20 children under the age of 10 years where shot and killed.

Well there is the weather conditions. When it's cold and wet I'm thankful not to have to go out. I don't have to get dressed, I can take breaks whenever I like and I save money on public transport, I'm not stuck in the sardine can during the morning and evening commute to and from work. I hardly ever get sick because I'm not around other peoples germs when they are sick. I can have sleep ins when I like and don't have to set an alarm
The only big downside to all this is that I don't make enough to even pay an internet bill with monthly. If I could make $20 a day I'd be fine and dandy!

You know for a long time that was how I was to that I could never get referrals, but recently I have noticed that talking about sites here on myLot has helped me to get a few referrals. I have 3 referrals on AyuWage and 2 on Hits4Pay. It helps.
I had heard some good things about mybrowsercash, but then I also saw some posts about glitches and problems with people getting paid. So, I have put that one on the back burner. Right now, I am trying out Swagbucks. It is taking sometime to figure out how much I can earn. Today I earned 41 SBs and currently the exchange rate is .01 per SB by my calculation; although, I hear that the rate is going to go back up in January.
Keep working on that dream of $10 a day. If you succeed please share because we cold all use an extra $300 a month. Currently, I would say I am closer to the 20 - 40 a month range. Still it does help.
I really do need to find more time to be active here on myLot. I just need about $3 more to make the minimum for cash out. I am on track, but some days are high paying days with me being quite active will other days I am not so active so my earns are only a few cents.
I am trying to figure out how best to balance everything on my plate. It feels like it is the leaning tower of Pisa. I either do really good in one aspect or another, but then the tower grows top heavy on another side with it threatening to fall over in a new direction.

Well I've been trying to make money online for maybe almost 2 years and still can't even make $10 a day. Too many of these places don't pay enough for your time that you're in front of the computer. I don't know how people do it as a living

I missed working in company sometimes, specially when I see my former colleagues in their recent christmas party. I also missed those times being with my girlfriends after work. Receiving cents from this online works are nothing compared from what we receive in working from company. But you are right, it saves us from hassles. It also gave us more time for our home and family.

If only working online paid a little better. Then it would've been a better option given the hassles we are saved from and money we do not need to spend on transportation, formal outfits, etc. If only!

I don't know how better is your better, but I read from other members who recieved payments here that are good enough for their one week grocery. Maybe it matters on how much time we devote in this online works although we cannot depend our whole necessity for this line of job. But for unemployed people, this much better than nothing.

That I can work with my pajamas. My previous work has this policy that if you don't go to work without make-up, they will deduct a certain amount from your salary. Also, I always have to wear high heels. My legs ache at night because of this. I can also take breaks if I want to. Have lunch early and do not have to join the sardine community of our MRT.

Green, what a strange policy? I personally believe that the best make-up a woman can apply is a smile. Also using make-up or not is a personal issue. Don't know what's wrong with your ex-employers!?

I enjoy working from home. In fact running my business from home has so many benefits that I feel I did took them for granted.
Imagine, not having to wake up wee hours of the morning to beat the traffic jam. Howabout having home cooked meals than eating junk food in the streets. Then again, the comfort of home is better than in an office.
There are many others but listing three of them above already reminded me to be grateful as we step into 2013.

I agree that nothing can beat the sweet comforts of home, sweet home. Now, if I just had a house-elf to tidy up the apartment. (A little Harry Potter humor) That would just about make it perfect.

I like setting my own hours, wearing what I like, eating when I wish...working at home is an amazing freedom, as long as you have the discipline to actually work consistently. I also like deciding how much or little I want to work, or need to work, so I can do things I enjoy when I wish to. Of course, my case isn't ordinary, because I am a shut in anyway--but I think even if I could get out and about, I would still prefer being my own boss. According to my other half and my kids, I never enjoyed working for someone else--I always preferred having my own business, so it works out for me.

Yes, it is, and I set goals on all my sites as well, based on what I need and what I would like--it works out well for me. There are times when I have issues keeping the goals, but that is usually because I am sick or something else serious is going on. Normally I am not "lazy", so it isn't hard for me to do what needs to be done.

chrystalia, that is great! I would very much appreciate if you share some thoughts on how you set your goals and manage to achieve those goals. Currently, I am striving to learn to be better at time management through the use of goal setting. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

chrystalia, I think the key to staying disciplined to working online is to have goals. I know how much I want to earn with a site, and it helps to keep me going to meet that goal. There were times that I wanted to hit that cash out button early on AyuWage, but I had already set the goal of earning $10, so I would get the bonus. I just kept thinking about how close I was to making that goal. It all comes down to having that goal and knowing what you want to achieve.

Though I do realize that there are some disadvantages to working from home, I can also think of a lot of different advantages to working at home.
1. I don't have to get dressed to go to work.
2. I don't have to spend a lot of money on gas for my commute and there is also no chance that I will get caught up in a traffic snarl.
3. I can work any hours of the day or night that I feel like working.
4. I am able to be home with my kids when they are sick, I can attend any and all school functions that I want to attend and I am not at risk of losing my job for doing those things.

Well, my kitty tends to insist that I get dressed once I get up as he will immediately request to go outside. I definitely agree with you about it being nice not to have to commute. No getting stuck in traffic or potential of getting into an accident. You can also save more on car insurance because you are driving less. Definitely working from home gives us the flexibility to schedule work around our life rather than us trying to figure out how to squeeze in life around work.
When I was working on of my colleagues would say that she had appointments so she had to leave right after work. The word appointment was code for carpooling her kids to sports and afterschool events, but you have to admit saying you have an appointment can sound a lot more acceptable than I have to leave to take my kids somewhere.

Hello
Surely there are few advantages of working from home. And one already you have mentioned. But but the important thing is that we can't earn big and fast. I will not tell same thing for everyone, as I know few person can really earn fast and more from online too and for that they surely have good skills. But for me online earning is still slow and I only consider it as extra earning. But yes you are right there are few benefits, like I can be with my family during work and yes we can go for it anytime from anywhere. Just we need internet and computer.

I could compose quite a long list, especially at this time of the year. However speaking generally I think it is the freedom that I like. Freedom to stop what I am doing and take a complete break doing something different. Freedom to work quietly and think without distractions.
Commuting is always unpleasant, whatever the weather. I had to catch a train and I was invariably short of time, so my breakfast was eaten in a rush, I ran uphill to the station and caught the train in the nick of time. Going out in the rain and cold was bad enough but it was no better when the day was warm and pleasant and I was going to spend it in a stuffy office.
I think we may have added years to our lives by working from home!

I agree I hate the commute to work. I miss the days when I could just walk 5 blocks to work. It made it quite nice. I agree that the workplace has become so incredibly stressful. All for what? I mean someday it almost feels like the money that we make is not worth the stress, but money is a necessary evil of life.
Yes, it is nice to have some freedom. There have been nice fall like days where I could sit on the couch working online with the patio door open enjoying the breeze.

Yes, it always nice to get that face to face interaction. Even in the workplace it seems like we are relying upon technology more. People send emails because it saves time rather than going and having a face to face conversation. I know I had to do this a lot when I was working a split position between two sites. I was always emailing because that was the only way that I could keep in contact with colleagues especially those that would leave as soon as the bell rang.

MIMO, Here it seldomly rains. I would prefer drive in a rainstorm than a dust storm. Still, I prefer not to go out when it is rainy. Tomorrow, morning I am planning to go out early to the farmer's market, so I am hoping that the weather will be decent.

Yes, the freedom is outstanding! We can live our lives rather than having to squeeze life in around work. The ex-boyfriend is still whining over the fact that I used to spend to much time working and not enough time paying attention to him. The weird part is that he does not get it that a lot of the reason that I put so much time into work rather than him was that I was feeling like we were in this deadend relationship with no future. I got tired of the fights that would always happen anytime that I tried to share my fears, so eventually I just stopped bring it up at all. I got tired of waiting for him to make a decision to want to be with me when we had been in a long distance relationship for almost 7 years. He always said he would move up here, but he could never make that commitment. As much as I could have considered moving back to my home town, I needed to see him actually choose to follow through on what he was always planning. In the end, I guess that neither of us could trust each other enough to make the relationship work. Now, the only thought that goes through my head when I hear him say that I spent too little time on the relationship was that I invested and spent way to much time on that relationship because it all turned out to be a huge waste of my time and energy. At least most of the time, we are rewarded for the time and energy that we invest into working online.

I'm also working online from home and I agree with you that the commute to work will be a damper if it rains. But if it rains and when it rains where I live, there will be thunder and lightning and when that happens, I have to switch off my computer lest the computer get hit by lightning. This had happened to me several times. So I don't wish for the rain even though I love it when it rains as the weather would be so cool.
Apart from that, working from home means that I can be with my children all the time and I can help them with their homework or anything at all. And that is a big plus for me working from home.

I understand what you are talking about. Lots of the time when we get summer moonsoon storms here it will be a show of thunder and lightening, and if we are lucky it will actually rain. I agree that I tend to unplug the computer when the weather is that bad. I have gotten a little spoiled in the past with having a laptop that as long as it is fully charged, I can unplug and still keep working. Currently, the laptop battery is not holding a charge so that is not an option.
It is so wonderful that you can work from home, and spend time with your children. I hope your children realize that is a wonderful gift as I know not all parents are this fortunate to be able to be home with their children.

Working from home always has its advantages. And you have pointed them out. I used to dread the long commute I had every morning. And I sure don't miss traveling in the cold wet weather as well as the snow storms. It is way more comfortable to just be able to wake up, have my coffee and hit the computer. Nice!!! If I want to move around all I have to do is get my coat and take a nice little walk a few times a day. Working from home gives the greatest freedom.

It is interesting how we tend to rush to our computers in the mornings to get start on a new day full of earning, and to check to see how much we earned from the previous day's work. Yet, we tend to loathe the having to get up early and trek into work for a traditional job. Do you think it is more that we see the fruit of our labor whereas in traditional jobs it tends to be that we are expected to perform our job responsibilities and we expect to receive our paychecks. I mean you never hear anyone wanting to shout out about how much they earned from a traditional job except for perhaps if they received a bonus. Here online we all exclaim in delight over our earnings.

I love being home with my daughter. I went back to work after a year of working from home. After paying for gas and childcare, I realized in three months that I was making a lot less than I was from home. It can be frustrating at times but it's perfect for me.
I don't have to get dressed if I don't want to.
I can stop my work and do something else.
I can schedule appointments whenever I want.
I spend more time with my child.
