The whole world was shocked when Manny Pacquiao of Philippines knocked-out by Juan Manuel Marques of Mexico last Sunday December 9. Straight punch of Marques totally tumbled down Pacquiao unconsciously on the floor. Lack of training was the reason of Pacquiao losses. He undergone training for almost 2 months while marques trained for 4 months. Until now the issue about Manny Pacquiao if there should be a rematch between Marques is a debate. Other says Pacquiao should retire from Boxing instead of having a rematch with Marques. For me rematch is needed. For Pacquiao he should focus on a training for the rematch.

It is not an issue whether you trained in a short span of time. If you are going to be a loser for a certain fight, then we need to accept it. That is a game, you will never be on top forever. I feel bad for the people of the Philippines, they empathize of what had happened. It happens for so many reasons, we are sporty in nature. Let see for the next fight, if wanted to retire then we should respect that. A super punch can lead you to have traumatic brain injury. It is evident from the previous boxers, to name a few Flash of the Philippines had the same history. He became famous but flank into nothing at all.

I agree Shavkat. As Manny himself has said, it's the reality of life. Sometimes, a person can't win all the time.

Yeah, a human is a human. You can't be a super at all times. If there is an event there is an issue. People can't stop from expressing their thoughts. All I can say is, boxing is an unhuman sports, you put your bet like a rooster in a cockpit.

Marquez desires to win in this fight, he train hard for it while Manny was just busy doing politics, going to parties...etc.. Although I am glad he was able to help some of our fellow countrymen but I think he's focus is not boxing anymore, he just wants to impress everyone taking aside what he should focus more and that is boxing. I hope this lose will make him realize that fame is not forever and it can bring you down if you disregard it..

For Marquez he aimed from the start was to defeat Manny. You are right some people saying that there are so many priorities of Manny. If he wanted to be in a ring again, he must set the boxing as his first priority. Maybe he knows that.

my father likes boxing very much but i don't. what makes interesting watching two men fighting each other. lol. but i know some names of world boxer, such Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali or Evander Holifield. yeah, they are old boxer but they are very famous boxers. even Mike Tyon is phenomenal enough not only in boxing world but also in his private life. about Manny, i just know his name. i didn't watch the match but i heard from TV cos my father was watching it with high volume. lol. i can hear form it that Manny was knocked down by Juan Manuel Marques. it is purely KO winning not TKO. it must be bad for Manny but achievement is getting through success and fail, right? so i hope Manny could be better after this and could take revenge on Marques in next match..

wow..he's a really really great boxer then! i know his name but i don't know at all about his achievement. the name i mentioned above all are boxer in the different class with Manny. they are fighting in a 'hard' class, i think the highest class in boxing world. i ever heard that 'hard' class is the mos prestigious class in boxing so most boxer who is fighting in that class, usually, more famous than boxers are fighting in lower class (pardon me if i made mistake, I'm sure that you know much much more about boxing than me..lol..and my sentence doesn't reflect that Manny is not famous. no i didn't mean like that).

Manny Pacquiao achieved more than Mike Tyson achievements or any other boxer in the world. If he wanted to be retired. It his decision after all.

I was expecting Manny to win or if ever he loses, it would still reach 12 rounds but I was really shocked when the fight ended in less than 30 minutes only. Before their fight, I was so sleepy watching the preceding fight and I really slept. Then I awoke after the singing the national anthems of US, Mexico and the Philippines. Then that was what happened after waiting for several hours for their fight to begin.

I thought it also. They might be gone for 12th rounds but anything can happen inside the ring and that's it. I was glad that Pacquaio survived we all know that boxing is a fatal sports.

In sports, in any event, opportunity is the factor as well as luck. Here, Marquez was lucky to have an opportunity despite having been bloodied with a broken nose. Just as in a rooster fight wherein the dying rooster has still a chance to win over the unhurt rooster.

No need to be shocked.. this kind of thing happens in sports almost everyday. Manny is human, and he can lose now and then. maybe he wasnt feeling that well in his match. A few weeks ago in the mexican soocer league team #8 beat team number one. it happens. Manny will be back as champ soon, youll see.

He is always be a champion in the eyes of his fans. He received that kind of lose a decade ago when he was starting his career in boxing. He knocked out by Rustico Torrecampo for the first time. Now that he knock-out again he must learn from this fights.

I think there is no sense already if they do have a rematch since Pacquiao should not show off anything anymore because he has a lot of achievement already. His lose this past few days is not a guarantee that he is already a loser. He was still the best among them for me. I think he should look after his health already because he's not getting any younger.

If Manny returns in boxing ring, I would go for Marquez for the 5th fight.

I also think that a fifth fight should be done because of the latest outcome. It feels like the 3 previous fights were erased and it is now back to square one. Hopefully, Marquez accepts it and they will slug it out again in the ring this year. I'm looking forward to the match just like the whole world.

I was also initially shocked when Manny was knocked out. I thought at first that Manny got a low blow and was grimacing in pain because of it, but then it turned out that Marquez did knocked him out with a powerful punch to the face.
Some call it a lucky punch, but nonetheless Manny I thought became careless and went on attack without defending himself. Manny already admitted he got overconfident and accepted his loss without any alibis. What happened should be a lesson to Manny that overconfidence and doing too many things at same time will distract him with his trainings.

That is what I liked to Manny. He admitted his own mistakes like of becoming over-confident to that fight.

I too was shocked when i opened the TV by and saw just in time , Manny knocked out by Marquez.
Actually, i went malling and even told my husband i won't watch the fight because i know Manny will win anyway.
But how shocking to see just as i arrived that he was knocked out. And i was terrified that as he landed the floor face flat, he was a bit trembling!

:'( His fall was really pitiful. His wife was cried not knowing what to do. His mother Aling Dionisia blamed Pastors of the new religion of Manny but I think it was not the reason of his defeat.

Manny Pacquiao should retire, he has nothing more to prove. He is already an eight division champion. That record is quite hard to break. He should retire while he is still healthy and not suffer the same condition as Muhammad Ali or his trainer Freddie Roach.

I was really shocked also about what happened. I felt bad for Pacquiao. If ever a rematch will happen, I just hope he will train harder than ever. I expected that if ever he will not knock out Marques, then they must reach or finish it after round 12 though I did not ever imagine that Manny was knocked out that bad. I think, that is what life is all about. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. But, at the end of the day, I am still proud with Pacquiao. He had proven a lot already. He is still a champion and a legend; a true testament that Filipinos could compete, conquer and be known worldwide.

Actually the Philippines become famous because of Pacquiao. When foreigners talk about Pacquiao comes next is the Philippines. He is a history and no doubt writers could make book of his life and deeds someday.

I was really shocked when Manny was knocked out by Marquez. Manny is one of our country's pride and I felt bad when he lose to Marquez. On the other hand Marquez deserved it because he was really strong and trained harder just to beat Manny Pacquiao and I know Marquez is also a great Fighter. Even Manny lose to Marquez I still support him. It's really sad that even how many games you have won and how many belts you have had but still if you lose once it's really a big deal. If Manny and Marquez would have a rematch then it's fine, I just hope Manny would train Harder this time.

I have watched the moves of Manny Pacquiao. His moves slowed down unlike his fights before Pacquiao-Marques 1,2 and 3. You are surely right it is really a big deal. He lose the two last fight. The expectations of the Filipino people was too high for Pacquiao mostly those who live in mindanao the poor community hoping for the support to uplift their lives. But still the honor for him for being a "National Fist" of the Philippines is still there.

Everyone was shocked about what happened. I mean, before the fight I thought Marquez could win because he also is a great fighter, but not to the extent that he's gonna put Pacquiao into sleep. But we know anything can happen inside the ring, maybe Paqcquiao never anticipated this.
Anyway, personally I think there should be a rematch, I don't know but I just did not feel it. Pacquaio deserves another chance. That's it!

Boxing is a business and I know promoters wouldn't stop of aiming to have a rematch between Pacquiao and Marquez. Some boxing analysts said it was a "perfect punch" of Marquez but for me it was a lucky fight for him. Last 1 second in 6th round he had the chance to punch Pacquiao straightly. If that can't happened maybe he was the one lied on the floor. The face of Marquez was full of blood and his nose was a bit wrecked.
