As we all know Miss USA won Miss Universe while Miss Philippines came out 1st runner-up, etc. A TV show in the US was giving news about the result of the pageant but it only mentioned its representative as the winner. There was no mention of the other winners. I was expecting to hear the name of my country mentioned at least but it wasn't. Well, we as a people are proud that we are on the top 2 in the entire world when it comes to beauty.

There are a lot of speculations circulating in the media. For me, I do think that Miss Philippines had showed her best, but it is not good enough for the judges. In spite of this, I am still proud that she had make it to first runner up.

I still think that Miss USA deserves the title for she gave a very spontaneous answer to a harder question. Miss Philippines I think deserves her position as first runner-up too but I wonder why some foreign press do not mention the names of other runners up.

If they were not mention, perhaps the news only highlighted the real winner of the event.

But to me, the news wouldn't be complete without mentioning the other lady who was Miss Phils. because the video clip they showed was that one wherein Miss USA and Miss Philippines were holding hands facing each while awaiting for the final result. Shouldn't they also have mentioned who she was?

Now that I find a great shame! You would have thought they would have least mentioned the runners up, it's a bit biased on the scale of things. I wonder if they would have mentioned it on the news if Miss Philippines came first? Probably not. Shame. Congrags Miss Philippines, I can understand you being proud!

I was expecting for it to be mentioned because I am truly proud of it, but no, they just left her out even if the video footage showed only Miss USA and Miss Philippines during the final decision was announced. I thought it was just proper to mention who the other competitor to the crown was. I think it's racist.

well I am Filipino and I am very proud to our representative from that pageant. I think all Filipinos out there also did. I feel bad for the other runner ups. I agree with you..

I watched a Filipino show yet they mentioned USA and other countries that belonged to Top 5. Well, I think it is really unfair. What could you expect, maybe they just don't want to tell the viewers the victory of other countries. I don't know if there is discrimination with that or it is part of the western culture. But I believe Ms. Philippines have captured every viewers heart with her wit and confidence. Even other nationalities like latinos favored her. right?

It is indeed unfair because we in the Philippines mention the names of countries (at least) in our news stories, but that particular news channel in the US only mentioned its own representative who won the crown.

It's an American Television so it is expected that they will talk more about their representative but ignoring the other candidates, especially the runner ups is I think not fair, but what can we do? media now-a-days are so much controlled.
