Sometimes I'm so depressed, I just sit and daydream. All this does is to make me more depressed. I better snap out of it I tell myself. I then decide to call some friends on the phone. I choose the ones who are lively and have a sense of humor. I don't need anyone who is not fun to talk to. Before you know it, my depression leaves me. I sometimes make a date to meet one of my friends for lunch. I go to my closet, and find somethinbg that I really enjoy wearing. I love clothes and new styles. Believe it or not, whenI come home, I'm a different person. I love going to lunches, especially new eating places. I love to cook, so I try to see if I can make up a recipe similar to the dish I had that day.

It's really important to divert your attention into something you want to do whenever you feel bad. In this way, it will not only lessen the burden of what you feel but also it will make you feel better. A lot of times, people use this as one of their coping mechanism to overcome something bad that happened in their lives.

Indeed,I would choose to sleep for a while or shopping with my friends when I am stress out.If I stay alone without doing anything,I would think about it too much and it would make it worse. The only way of get rid of the depression is to distract my attention and try to be busy as I can.

Distraction and keeping oneself busy can be an excellent coping mechanism utilized during a bout of depression. Just remember that this may not be a long term solution and if your depression is persistent and perpetual, it can be a good ideal to seek medical advice to assess whether you may need medication or at least a therapist who can provide you with talk therapy and cognitive behavior therapy to help you become a healthier, happier person. Good luck and stay smiling. :)
