Or do you prefer the realistic endings?
For me I love to watch and engaging movie where people come together for a greater good but I also love when things end in a more realistic fashion. Not everyone lives. Sometimes the hero or heroine dies... Sometimes the relationship fails. Its nice to know that everything isnt wrapped up in some pretty little bow and that the other person lives on.
The only movie I have hated the ending on is Odd Life of Timothy Green. I wanted that little boy to live on and last. Still, the movie was good and very inspiring.

LOL well now I know the ending to the Timothy Green movie....
I like happy endings but I agree sometimes I like when things go against expectations and the usual happy endings...it is more realistic...
My hubby likes happy endings only..he claims there is enough sorrow in the world that his entertainment doesn't need to have any

Yes. I prefer them to the NeverEnding endings (like most Batman-movies & the MATRIX movies & the James Bond movies, etc.)
Gives me an idea for a movie The Great Sequelizer---about a man who discovers how all movies are real and how he must bend space & time in order to fit them together the right way.

I always love happy endings because it takes my mind away from our daily life . Our life is the real life, not the movies, that's why I would rather have a nice ahpy ending movie, to make my day nice. I have seen Timothy Green movie and it was a nice one. I personally think that the end was a happy ending as he was a tree behaving as a child for a short time in order to experience what people experience day by day. All those strong emotions like love, dissapointment, happiness, being secure and so on. it was a great experience or both sides.

I don't really get the movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green. But I thought the ending does fit the overall story. I don't understand how Jennifer Garner can "grow" a child. How is that even possible? Really have to suspend your logic watching this movie.
And as for movie endings, I do love happy endings but it has to fit into the whole scheme of things. I don't like it when the film maker tries too hard to get a happy ending when the ending must obviously be sad. And I also don't like it when they kill off characters just because it's convenient. The ending must fit the story.

It depends on my mood actually. Some days when I am feeling sad or depressed I like to watch the Happy Ending ones to lift my spirits a little bit. Other days when I am angry I life the realistic endings.
I know real life is definitely NO fairy tale at all so it really just depends on what I'm in the mood for...
When I am in the mood to cry I will watch Odd life of Timothy Green, now that I know the ending. I want to get that movie so bad! It looks amazing. =)

I like endings that don't leave you hanging. And also, I like endings that have a closure. I know 'happily ever after' endings sound sappy. What I like to see is a movie that shows life in the 'happily ever after' cuz every day is an adventure. Why can't there be a story to share about life in the 'happily ever after' life. A happy adventure!

I like happily ever after endings. Just hoping they are realistic too. Usually with cartoons that is expected. When watching tragic dramas and movies, they depress me so I don't watch them often.

i'm really not into the happily ever afters. i feel like some stories are forced to have that ending which makes it very predictable.

It depends on the movies. There are those movies, easy romantinc comedies, where everything is predictable. It would be shocking in a bad way that a movie like this to have a sad ending.
Still, I prefer twisted endings, that make me think at the meaning of the movie. My favorite one is the end of "American Beauty".

I go to the movies to be entertained and relieve myself from the rigors of work. Which is why I go for "feel good" movies with happy endings. Of course there are those movies that would leave you with a heavy heart and inspired at the same time. These movies I also watch but I make sure that I don't watch them when I'm stressed.

Yes realistic endings are much more acceptable in today's world then the fairy tale happy endings. Yes we too have to accept the realistic world and accept any failings and get on with life.
