Well the last day of 2012 dawned with snow falling here in my severely drought troubled state. It is predicted to not be much except possibly in the mountains and even there not enough to help the drought. Rain would be better since it would soak into the ground while the snow lays and evaporates back into the very dry air that soon will follow. My North facing driveway will get more than anyone else in my cul-de-sac will get but hopefully the wind won't be too bad since that would pile it up even more since the wind blows everything onto my driveway and front porch. The last day of 2012, perhaps appropriately, brings the end of my favorite 100% whole wheat sandwich size bread which is Nature's Pride which was a Hostess product. I had my last piece of toast from it this morning and have enough left for my sandwich at lunch and a slice with dinner. My goals for today are to try to get my usual amount of exercise in and to not eat too much ice cream and M&M's. I haven't been doing to well with the latter lately and even gained a pound yesterday because of it. I hope everyone has a more interesting fun end of the year than me.

My grandmother had a saying " after much rain the sun will show up". This meant that there will be always days hard to go by but then other days will follow with good news for us. Always try to keep your chin up and see the "half cup full". be an optimistic person and soon your cup will be full not only half full. lots of peopl are saying that if you think good and believe that good will happen, that's what you are going to attract eventually.

You are so sad...I am sorry for all the problems in your state...We have gone through a few droughts where I live, but thankfully a tropical storm usually rescues us from the fires that are inevitable in a drought. Our biggest problem is the reduction of our water tables. We will soon run out of potable water because no one will conserve and too many new people move here looking for freedom from northern insane taxes. It would take years of steady rain to bring our water levels back up and that will never happen. Our potable water tables are down over 80 feet.
I hope it rains soon for you and all who are suffering...

I am sorry your state is dealing with a severe drought. I hope you get some rain soon. Like you, I want to eat healthier in the New Year. I am also disappointed that Hostess is going out of business. I loved Hostess' Chocolate cream filled cupcakes. Happy New Year!
