Updating My Wardrobe for the New Year

Life and health circumstances caused me to gain a few pounds and now my wardrobe just doesn't fit right. Many people make a New Year's resolution to shed pounds but that takes time. I realized my wardrobe has to work for me right now. I decided to add a few pieces that would make me feel good about myself as I work to get in shape.
After going to a holiday party and with tonight being New Year's Eve, I realized my dress clothes just don't fit properly. I found out how to take my measurements at Elegant Mart as I tried to shop around for a new dress. Strapless gowns just won't work for me because I feel I look too heavy in them. Going in-person gets embarrassing so I felt better shopping online.
Ultimately, I chose a single shoulder dress with a fitted waist and skirt that flares out. It hides my hips and gives me an hourglass shape even though I'm turning into a bit of an apple. The single strap looks great and makes me feel more secure that my bodice won't slip when I am moving around or dancing.
I also joined the gym and started taking yoga and stretching classes to get started. I worked with a free physical trainer who suggested 1200 calories per day but I think that is a bit radical. I read 1500 calories is a healthier way to lose weight without putting your body through serious changes. I think tonight will be the last time in a long time I eat anything "bad." What are your new year's goals?

For me, first of all is to get the driving license, and then is to learn Jazz or Yoga in a dance training school. I hope i can realize these in the new year.

I need clothing often because I work everyday. I like buying new stuff every season as well.

no specific goal for the new year, it's still what I always said/want.. me first. I have a lot of clothes I do not fit anymore either but I will keep them. Hopefully sooner or later (have some which are 10 years old or older :-s )I will fit into it again.

Well, I did real well with my diet and exercise until the Christmas holidays. Then, I enjoyed myself at tooo many parties. But, I think it is OK to have a little fun. Too many of my friends enjoy baking those delicious Christmas goodies and I, being a good friend, just have to taste their delicious baking. :)
Anyways, I am now back on track with my diet and exercise. I just need to lose 5-7 more pounds.
My New Year's goal is to maintain a healthy lifestyle of eating healthy and daily exercise. Something that I can manage each day.
