I have this new friend I have met through another friend on Facebook this year who creates these really nice poems and other types of cool writings all the time. He also sells his own sauce too but that is another topic. Anyways after I posted my photo of me there of myself all made up with my hair somewhat done and my only good dress I have that is red, he wrote something up just for me. He posted it on his wall and then messaged it to me, too. Once in a while he will do that for a post he sees on there, it's not like I'm the only one but I thought it was so nice of him. Has anyone ever written a song or other poem just about you and if they did would you feel flattered? It just seems to be so natural for him, he is so talented and he should write a book wit them in it.

That's sweet, and I'm a bit older (in my 40's, ughh, how did I get so old!), so that kind of stuff don't really happen to me. But I see my kids doing things like this quite a bit and doing it themselves with their friends. Social Networking has really done a lot in helping some people be able to express themselves better.

I have written lots of poems for people over the years but only one person has written a poem about me. That was my little granddaughter and she likened my nose to a sparrow's beak!
Some people love to have a poem, others I think don't know quite how to respond. Your friend sounds nice, perhaps you could write a poem for him, it is quite easy to do once you try. It will probably be his first - could do wonders for the friendship.

My High School Best Friend (guy) wrote me a poem. I was touched when he was able to make one for me to. I thought that it was just a very friendly gesture. A few months later, he told me he was falling in love with me, thus he made the poem. Well, we really were close, and I was honest enough to to tell hell him that I just see him as my brother and nothing more. I know he was hurt, but I wanted to be his friend forever and it was the only way I know I can keep him.
