Yes. We do feed our dog with chicken bones, but it curious me. Is it really true that if we feed our dog with chicken bones, its bad for his health? My sister owns a dog, but I didn't know all about chicken bones that would make a dog become unhealthy.

Maybe many people in some other parts of the country don't know that or it became a norm to the pet owners to feed chicken bone to a dog. It is because we've always seen it on movie or on tv. Example is Tom and Jerry cartoons. The dog in that cartoons likes chicken bone too much and as a result, it became a norm to a dog that they ate chicken bone in real life.
I don't know. Its like a steorotype. Like us, but not only us. We feed chicken bone to our dog and it became a norm, but it depends to the owner I guess. If they are too much aware about their own dog, well, maybe they won't feed the dog a chicken bone. It depends on a chicken bone I guess because there some dogs that even they ate chicken bone, they're still alive.
Same with fish bone. My mom told me that cats can ate fish bone because they're cats and they have 9 lives. Same with other people. They thought that is fine with dogs that they ate chicken bone because they're dogs or its like an image icon for a food dog.

Yep, this is correct as I have seen and heard a lot of dog deaths due to stucked chicken bones in their stomach. We never give our dogs chicken bones too. Also, dog doctors also do not advise giving dogs such chicken bones due to the same reason Ms. Hatley provided.

We give chicken bones to our dog, but not bare bones. She eats whole parts of the row chicken.
Raw chicken bones can't do any harm to a dog.
But cooked chicken bones can be dangerous for a dog, especially if we are talking about long bones, like the one from the chicken's legs. That's because they can be broken into sharp pieces that can hurt the dog's digestive.

Hi, my neighbour has a pet dog, I know he doesn't feed it chicken bones. He told me once he fed some chicken bones, the fragments of bone stick into its throat, so after that he never fed it chicken bones anymore. You can feed it chops if you can.

I once heard my neighbor say that chicken bones will make the dog paralysed! But she didn't seem to know the reason, neither do I.
So you'd better not feed him with chicken bones for safety's sake.
Besides, dogs cannot eat some of the cooked food that contains oil, salt and some other ingredients. It's bad for their health. Oh, no chocolate or coffee, either!

Chicken bones can get lodged in a dog's insides. That is very painful and can prove fatal. Removing bones from a dogs' gut can be very expensive and dangerous for the dog.
Feeding a dog a home made diet can be done. There are safe diets out there, although I would talk to a vet before you start.
There are are also safe and wholesome dog foods that are manufactured out there that are made locally in the United States. Not all of them feature corn as the first ingredient, and they are reasonably priced.
Many dog foods can be found for specialty diets for those dogs who need them.

I didn't think of that. I'm glad that it didn't happen to my dog. It's been a long time since we started feeding him with chicken bones and up to now he hasn't experienced that. BTW thank you for your suggestion my friend and have a nice day! :)

THe only kind of bones you can give your dogs are chicken feet as they are not real bones that will be sharp and can hurt its insides. It doesn`t have to do with the dog`s hair: he may die from internal bleeding if a bone punctures his intestine.

I never feed my dogs chicken bones not only because they are small dogs, but because they are not good for them is what I have heard. I heard that they can choke on them and they can splinter and puncture their internal organs or something like that. After learning about that, I never feed them chicken bones. I have never fed them chicken bones and I don't plan on it. I never heard anything about them getting scars and losing hair though from eating chicken bones. You never know though. I just wouldn't feed them to your dogs.

I really don't know about the hair and the scars. But I know for a fact that you shouldn't give your dog chicken bones as the bones are quite small, thin and sharp. This can be detrimental to your dog's stomach as it can damage it due to the sharpness and penetrating ability of chicken bones. I have seen many dogs die due to this one. That is why we only give our dogs the big bones for them to munch on. This has also been the advice of veterinarians and dog doctors.

It’s okay to give your Dog chicken as your pet’s meal however, do not give it to your dog frequently because they aren’t good in the dog’s appetite and most chicken bones may lead to Dog choke because they are more tiny compared to Pork or Beef bones.
It’s also not advisable to give your dog chicken feet because such bones over chicken feet are tiny and hard to swallow resulting to dog choke.

no, no, no, never feed your dog chicken bones. the problem is that they will brake apart in little pices and they can puncher the dog from the inside. causing to bleed inside. in turn causes alot of other problems. also dogs dont chew either food they blot it. which means they are like a vacume hose. so the bone can get stuke and cause them to choke on it. if you want to feed your dog bones then beef bones are really good

I think it is not true that feeding dog with chicken bone is bad for dog. I have a dog, and have been feeding with chicken bone. Nothing happen with my dog. He is a very health and aggressive dog until now. But, I would like to consult to veterinarian about this.
