Collect them all

I have this obsession of buying some cheap but useful books in a store. I have lots of them but I don't even had time to finish reading all of them. When I was a little girl, I wish I have my big house and a huge room for a library. Each time I recall those childish dreams of mine, I just smile..

My daughter loves to collect books as well.
She's collecting R.L.Stine books and now we are having problems where to stock all those books that she have.
I am asking her to give some to her cousin who also a book addict- it's like inheritance- hehehe

I always bought a lot of books as well. Also gave and still give books to my children but seldom buy them for me anymore. I also wanted a big private library but never came that far anymore (although I made a start but out of space). Now my eldest has made one on her ceiling. I don't think it's childish and sooner or later you have time to read or finish those books. There are times/periods in my life I read day and night and periods I have no time for it.

Well, to be honest, in my life I have read only two books. I read them even against my will, because to me that was imposed on reading in school.
I find, however, a very useful and educational pastime read books.
However, I have not failed to read some of the definitions in the encyclopedias, just to know exactly defined.
However I have many books at home, the majority (I would say almost everyone!) was bought by my parents, or were given to me.
I believe that your hobby of reading, is a very wise thing.
Happy reading!

I enjoy reading and I am able to buy a lot of books used at a reasonable price at flea markets, yard and garage sales or thrift stores. I would love to have a small study with my own library. My Uncle use to call me a little book worm because every time he saw me I had my nose in a book

It is great that you love reading, but for what reason will you keep them when you are finish reading? I would donate them to a hospital or old age home, or shelter. I think you should finish what you start (reading) and then bless others with the great books!

I understand your 'obsession'. I've got so many books that I've been thinking of what to do with all of them. I will keep some as I read several of them more than once.
Have you heard of Better World Books? It's an online used book outlet. They have free shipping all of the time. Most of their books are less than $5. For every book that they sell, they donate another to literacy causes. That's where I've gotten the majority of my books for the last couple of years.
Our library sells used books and I have donated a few for them to reap the benefit. Now I'll have to find a lot of boxes in order to take them some more.
I've read every book that I've bought second-hand. Occasionally I will buy a book new.

I also have a collection of books. :) Our country The Philippines doesn't really have a good public library system, so if I want to read something I have to buy them. I usually buy from used-books stores, but if I like the author enough I buy them new. I also buy from online stores like bookdepository.com (new) and betterworldbooks.com (used).
When I move to my own house I plan on building a wall of bookshelves and display all my books there. :)

It's nice to have books. It will definitely give us something to do when we are bored or just want to relax. I would like to get a nice library of books going for my daughter. I would love for her to have a lot of great kids books. Most books though are very expensive. Right now we get a lot of books from the library for us to read. I'm pretty much a stay at home mom so we order a lot since we are home most of the time throughout the week.
