I received my salary today for the second half month of December and oh my, it's not good. The only money left was only good for 3 days! I spent all my money last month but I remembered keeping new paper bills for Christmas and now, I can survive for more than a week. I need to spend little by little for two weeks until my next payday. Now, I am thankful that noone asked money from me last Christmas and good thing I kept the money in good condition.
I have some instances like that where I'm running out of money and I will just look everywhere in the house and gather all the coins on some table, or look into all my purses for some bills.

Lucky for you that you have those people who owe you money.
Yes, it happens everytime but I just wished not at this time of the year. It's only 5th of the first month of the year! Huhuhu.
I need to be on a strict diet for two weeks so I can have a healthy living. Haha!
Have you done that? Telling people that you're on s diet well in fact you just wanted to be thrifty because you have no enough money.

When I was working I used to put some coins and bills under my clothes or in some pockets of all my bags and try to forget about them while I still have money to use. Then When I need more money it's when I start looking everywhere. It's really helping me a lot when "dry season" comes along.

Wow, that's a good idea.
I kind of experienced that on unintentionally on my bag.
Well, I used the bag before when I went shopping and little did I know that some money were left in the pocket. And when the time came that I used the bag and checked on the pockets, I saw lots of money. That was the time I'm experiencing dry season too.

I am sure you'll be able to budget well whatever is left that can see you through till the next payday. Since I am no longer working and depending on my sons social welfare I try to economize and stay within my budget. As long as you can still afford to have your three square meals everyday you need no worry when your balances is in red as the big chunk of cash will roll in the next twenty days.

Well, I could be the same sometimes, too. Coz really, even though how much you save nowadays, still there would be times that you need to spend for unexpected circumstances.

Aha! So you are like" When the cat is away, the mouse will Play"!
And that would mean seeing you less often again.

Yes, you're right. And sometimes those unexpected things come when you have the least money in your pocket.
Hope I can make good earnings this month. But as usual, I know for sure that I cannot make it.
This is the only day that I can be here because my boss who happens to see me from my table is absent today.
On Monday, bye mylot again.

Yes, I'm back from outer space.
But I won't stay for long time.
My boss is just absent today so there's no one who can see me doing mylot.
I grabbed the chance, that's why.
I have my piggy bank too but I don't get money from it.
I want to fulfill my goal that I will only open it when it's full.
Save with my savings, when I already deposited it in the bank, I don't get anything from it except for very emergency purposes.
Good for you that you can spend you earnings here offline. Me, I have to save it there until such time that I can use it for shopping online.

I am very positive that year 2013 will be a better and fruitful year. That I wouldn't be be having problem about money, that my online income will pour like rain.
Wake up! Wake up! I am dreaming again.
Kidding aside, I am doing my best to improve more this year. Have a nice day!

Everybody wants it that way but in reality, everyday isn't the same like we wanted it to be.
As long as we can handle and survive, there will be no problem.
...and there's nothing wrong with dreaming.
It's sometimes good because we are tempted to make our dreams real.

Yes, dreaming isn't bad as long as we wake up and started working to achieve it.
@ prashu: the year is just starting. Don't lose hope. Who knows you can still get other referrals who will be active? Let's be positive always.

I remember these times. We decided to be really tight with our money - we went without or bought the cheapest possible version for a long time. Slowly, slowly, we built things up, but we are still not completely comfortable yet.
it is fortunate that nobody asked you for money.

So we are still fortunate that we can buy other items in a cheap price. But sometimes, we have to be careful from those stuffs. Anyways, it's good that you have fixed everything and you maybe feel uncomfortable, in time, you can still manage to get up and feel comfortable with everything.
It's really my side of luck that nobody asked money last Christmas. At least now, I have something to spend for the rest of two weeks.

Good idea you did.
Better nobody ask you money during Christmas. Like me, nobody came to me also to ask money expect our avid customers who always ask for our give away's. Most of the time I was inside our shop. I am busy with our family business until now

I remember also last month incoming Christmas, I was in Manila. My wife sent me money through banks so everytime I withdraw it to any ATM, the bills was very new and I am the first who used it. I tried to keep it in my wallet but because I am pron to several expenses so I used it to pay. Here in our home, I am thankful, I am not worried about my daily needs.

I am really thankful for that. Actually, I inserted each of the bills on my diary so they will stay new when someone asked for their "aginaldo" but so happy no one did. I kept 500pesos of 50-peso bills and it's really of great help to me during this time.
Good for you to have a family business. I bet you always have a money on hand.

Ops, that's too bad to hear.
This is very common with us who worked with fix salary (wish there's another increase this year)
I also experience the same thing- and loose change from drawers, empty boxes, flower vase helps a lot

It all comes down to expenses. Sometimes forcing us to go without things we want for those bills and things we need.

You are not alone friend. I also spent my money easily buying man discounted items in the mall and suddenly never noticed that I'm totally out of budget. It's hard to look for money but it's so easy to spend. The moment you have your salary it will easily slip in your hands..
@adnileb (5276)

Those discounts and sales are really hypnotizing, right?
As long as you still have money to spend, you tend to buy many things because you are attracted with the discounts.
And when going home, you realize that some of the stuffs you bought aren't needed in the house and thinking that you shouldn't have bought them but it's too late. So you end up having no money for other important stuffs.
Well, I have been in that place of yours for some time and it's so frustrating. And when you're expecting a salary, you budget everything and upon receiving your pay, your money is gone.

I remember those days!
Early in my career, me and some friends from work would always go out on payday. We'd go to clubs and spend one or two nights partying. Then for the next few days, we'd struggle financially until the next payday.
I'm glad those days are done for me.
Hope you'd leave these kind of days in the past too.

Me and my fiance used to eat at fastfood chains during the first days after the payday. And then next days, we can't afford even the cheaper meals so we end up buying in the grocery for canned goods or whatever it is that we can buy.
Partying is done for me during my college days.
That time when all I do is ask money to my parents.
But now that I am working, I realize the value of money and how hard it is to be earned.
Good thing those days are done.
So now, I bet you're not struggling anymore.

Even that a thing like that happened to you, you have resources for extra bucks :) for me as a student, it is a normal day to get out of money. Haha but its real. My plans for this year is to be a money saver. Lol even that it sounds funny. I mean it and i really want to get much of what i am spending now. :D

As a student, parents give allowances. And since you are not working hard for your allowance, you tend to spend it until it's gone. It's normal.
When I was a student, I used to tell my mom that I have some projects to do and will be needing some money. It's true that I have some projects to do BUT I will ask money with some interest that's good for a few days of spending good amount.
I can say, I am much richer when I was studying than now that I am working.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, why don't you organize your spending and save money for future? as you mentioned you are running out of money and spend your income within 3 days, here after don't spend a lot and face this kind of issues. Organize your money and spend it in a good way. Allocate a certain amount for saving, it will help you in critical times.

I do save my friend.
Every payday, I save fix amount from my salary.
Upon receiving my pay, I deduct from it the fixed savings, the payment for apartment and internet connection. What's left from there will now be my allowance for the rest of the week to buy foods, transportation expense and grocery.
And that's what I'm telling that I only have 3 days to survive for food with what's left for me. BUT I already set aside the savings there so no need to worry for the future.
If cases get worst, I will only withdraw money from the bank. If I can still hold on, I don't get money from my savings.
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm also in the same situation right now, I wasn't able to watch out how much I spent, and even borrowed from sis. I'm glad I still have my food allowance for this month, my other budgets are already gone. Now, all I'm allowed to buy is my food.

As much as possible I don't want to run out of money.. but with my situation having a baby it does happen due to a lot of expenses.. and for that I am so grateful with my mother in law who is so generous with us.. anyways before I had a family I see to it that every payday I save money even a little in my bank accout., so I will not run out of money.. always remember specially if you are still single savings is very important.. even small amount of savings every payday will earn big if you do it in a regular basis..

It's really good to have a bank account because your money is safe from you to spend unwisely. At least when they're in the bank, you will be hesitant to withdraw them and will think of the more important things for that money. That's good that you manage to save on a regular basis. As of now, I wasn't able to save for myself but I do save for our joint account.

You are not alone, you know, it is new year now, people start to use money to have a good start of the new year. For me, I have to purchase some presents for my friends and relatives when I back to the hometown next month. And now, my purse is empty.
@adnileb (5276)

That's the another thing I am getting confused to.
Why do we need to give presents everytime we went back home after a long time?
It has become a tradition and people will ask for their "pasalubong" everytime.
I don't like it especially when I'm running out of money.
Just like you, now your purse is already empty.
You will go back there with so many presents but your wallet is empty and they still thought that you have lots of money because of the presents you have.
