Anyone here who has a diary?
I had one last year, wrote for few days and then forgot that I have one.
And as the year ended, I looked into it and felt unsatisied with what I have read.
Some are nonsense and the others are just bad luck. Having written for few days and all I read were meaningless.
Now, I am making another one and decided to bring it anywhere so I wouldn't forget to write something whenever possible. I want that as this year will end, I can read some memorable stories of my life.

Oh, no, I know it's for everybody who loves writing everything that went on a day.
I have my planners too for two years but didn't write anything. So disaappointing. I remember how I loved to have a planner or diary by December so I can have something to look forward to for next year but they always turn out a mess. I mean, I wasn't able to fulfill everything I want. So now, I hope to keep track of everything.
You should try and try having a planner or diary. It would be fun at the end of the year while reading.

I am worried about a diary maybe some of my secrets would be revealed to my wife
For a planner, I am comfortable to leave it anywhere in the house. Diary is a secret that can be read or reveal after you leave the recent life and turn to another dimensions.

hi adnileb
Should I lie? Nah, I will never to friends.
I had a diary until 2007 (and I started writing it out only in 2006) and I had written down an entry everyday on how much I missed being with my love of life. We had started seeing each other in 2005 end and in Dec 2005, I had realized that I am in love with her. But I did not have the capacity to tell her so as I was not yet earning good and ready for a married life. So in 2006, I went out to a different city to work and earn some good amount at least for marriage and immediate expenses. And during this time, I used to write regularly.
Then after our marriage, I still buy a diary to write every year. And yes, I have some good content on those diaries. A discussion from another friend has made me feel that someday, I can get some content published as a book and maybe I win a Pulitzer(lol! Sorry, used all 3 of them)... But then every Dec. 31st, when I review those diaries, I feel I had been lazy all the year and have not enough of content...
But yes, the writing of diary connects me with one passion of mine - writing with pen and paper... and now I realize that someone had promised me a Parker Pen!!!! Wait... I will call him up after this discussion and ask him where is that Pen

WOW sids, that is soooo sweet of you my dear.
Reading your response makes me smile and your wifey is one lucky woman to have someone responsible like you.
I know now that you really really love to write and you really really have a passion for it. I want to be like you, who can write down good on a journal. But it seems to me that I have not enough word power to express unlike when I was in college. Anyways, I will try to be very creative this time.
@ifa, so have you asked them if ever you promised them something?

Hi there, dear friend! Happy New Year!
During my younger years (well, that was not so long time ago ), I used to keep a diary. Actually I think I had been taking all important moments of my life from 1984 until 1993. It was fun. But I stopped when I gave birth. I ddn't have much time to write anymore.

Now, you're making feel real old again!
I'd like to write again. But I think I'd rather share my thoughts here at Mylot that make my own journal again. Hubby could be really snoopy sometimes!

I have not written anything down with pen and paper in a long time now. I have an app on my iPhone and iPad that I use. It is a journal app. There is also one online called Penzu. I use that also. But I mostly use the one on my iPhone and iPad. They have one for my Mac as well. They all work together, so no matter where i am, I can write. And they are all synced.

I keep a diary. I already have one filled up and have started a new one. I'm not good at keeping a diary. I have been advised to write in a diary everyday but memorable moments don't happen everyday and sometimes I feel like I'm recording something that I don't want to remember. When I stop writing everyday however I forget to write in it at all. My old diary have time gaps of up to years because I forget and stop writing. I hope I am more consistent with this new one.

You're right -memorable moments don't happen everyday. But I like writing down bad moments too. And when I read it in the future, it makes me realize that something has gone wrong last time. It's not pleasing to read though but it's done.
Diary should be visible to us so that we can remember to write in there for some time. But since other people might read it, we tend to keep it safe and then forget to write on it.

Hi ms.Hatley..
You love to write? For thirty minutes? Isn't it tiring?
I love to write poems when I was in college where it seems to have lots of inspirations everywhere. But know, I can't even start a line.
Do you still have the diary you made in the past? Have you tried reading them now? Before, I tried and it's fun.

I must agree and I am the same way. There are many times that I wanted to keep a diary and actually keeping one for a whole year would be nice. Like you said, you can later go back and read about all the things that you wrote about. I have a hard time keeping up with a journal. Sometimes I write in it and I'll go for days with writing in it and then there are other times that I forget to write in it and I'll go for days and then months and then just forget about it I haven't wrote in it at all and I just give up.

I kept one for years for my eldest 3 children as I was a single mother. I wrote for each of them nearly every day. This because I was a single mother and I wanted them to get know me by my own words (not by someone who never cared about me) if I would die suddenly. I tried to do the same for my latest two on computer but did quit with it (after the pc crashed). I started to make pictures again, so they have many of that and I write down some short notes to it. By now the youngest are 9 and 7 so I hope able to remember me from their own memories if they see their pictures etc.

Wow, that's so cute. I think what you are making is like a scrapbook too.
Me and my mom made a scrapbook when we traveled to 3 countries. It's like putting there the good memories we had together.
It's a good idea that you are doing such so that your kids will always remember the good things in the future and will never forget a sweet mom like you.

Well,i am into my 18th year of writing diary.I feel fantastic about that achievement. It has been a great ride so far.I usually write in a A4 size page book.I always get the new year diaries and once done would keep them safely away in my cupboard.I do love reading memories especially the good ones.I do write all the pages in full,so nothing is wasted.I write about what happened on the day and the different thoughts i went and things like that.I do not think i had much days without much to write especially with online things happening.I always felt my diary as my great friend.I can share all my thoughts without regret and can be happy for things.I guess that thought and things made me to write diary for a longer period of time.I have also been successful in not sharing my diary with others for all these long.I am happy with being myself and within me.I also enjoy reading past year diaries. There are always some special moments in life. Its fun reading them and also inspires you for the present things. But good to know your part of things. Thanks!

WOW, 18 years? That's amazing. Don't you feel tired of doing it? Do you write everyday? Well, that's awesome for me if you write on your diary everyday because not everyday is a day with story for me. You're right, it's fun reading them in the future and I could say, I had lots of fun reading my previous diaries. Especially those in my college years.
Good luck to you!

I kept something like that.It was more like a lyrics collection. Before, I like to write songs, so I wrote whatever I had in mind in a very small notebook. It was handy at times, but most of the time I just scribbled all over the notes. I got back to it one day and found out how corny most of the lyrics are. I did that because sometimes you can't remember stuff, most of the time when they got your head for a moment and then just disappear. I have problems remembering things like that, I think most of us do.

Having a diary for some time is really fun especially when you get to read the contents in a span of time. I have a diary during my college days and when I read it before, mixed emotions was felt. I cried, laughed and smirked. But it's always fun to remember those times, right?
I think you should have a little time for that.

I am keeping a journal to keep track of my daily activities specially that one in our office. We are being required to submit our Work Program at the start of the semester and we will have to accomplish a performance evaluation sheet at the end. It is easier if an employee is keeping a daily journal. This evaluation sheet shall be the basis for the release of performance incentive bonus.
Have a nice day!

Hi friend, good to hear about your diary habit. Previously few years before i had diary habit and wrote my day to day activities, but now i don't have time to write diary and completely give up that habit. Writing Diary is really a good thing and we can remember about a thing easily while checking the Diary

You're right, we can check on those moments that happened recently. Just like when I was checking my last year's diary, even though I have just written a few, those moments were a bad luck. About how I cut my finger, about the four blood extractions attempts on my arms and a lot more. I notice that most of what was written were sad and bad moments that happened. Hope this time, it's more of a good memory.

I kept a diary when I was still a student. After graduation from university,I found it hard to keep a diary everyday though sometimes I really want to keep it.You are right,it is a good habit which can record everything rather keeping in mind and with the time going on,they would be the precious memories.

Yes, in time, it will be really precious especially when what you have written are all good memories of your daily life.
Having a diary while studying is really good. Before, I used to write those days when my crush talked to me or we had a lot of fun in class where I get to know my crush more (something like that makes me smile when reading them).
