It is nice to have turtle as pet, but in my house it is not possible. My parents are traditional, they believed that if you have pet like this; your life will be slow too. They are emphasizing the slow pace of walk of this amphibian. It is like you are carrying a burden, as the turtle carry his hard shell. What do you think?

Yeah I also heard that when you touch this you get to be forgetful always. That is why there are really few who really takes them as pets. But I think there is no truth to that since I remember we have one of those exotic green turtles once and I do not think our life went slow because of that and I also did not noticed I became forgetful at that.

When it comes to thinking about turtles, the only thing that I can think of is that in the race between the tortoise and the hare, it was the tortoise that won the race because he wasn't in a huge hurry and he didn't make any kind of hasty decisions. Therefore, I think that if I had to make a choice between having a rabbit or a turtle as a pet, I would choose to have the turtle as a pet because it would teach me patience to take my time and not make stupid/hasty decisions.

I have a friend who has turtles as their pet and I must say that they are one of the richest family known here in our area. I think it all depends on your beliefs. Also, whatever it is that you think, you will attract. They are positive and very loving about their pet so I think they don't have problem with it.

We have the same belief that turtle represents growth in life. But i a glad that this became our belief becuase if not, many will exploit the poor turtles And isn't taking care of turtles as pet is prohibited. And selling these pets is punishable. Turtles can live for /400y ears. I have watched a film which is entitled "The journey of the turtle". It was a very nice documentary film.

I actually don't believe that. I have 2 turtles myself but I think that my life is going at a good pace. Another thing I have always thought that turtles moved slow in pace, but surprisingly when I take my turtles out of the tank and onto the floor they are pretty fast in moving.

Aw...:(
That cant be true...!!!
Let me see...if we have birds as pets, we should be feeling pretty light weight notwithstanding how much we eat...it would a nice way to lose some weight..
Same for squirrel...
And if we have cats and dogs, may be will never stop walking on our four limbs,
We might at the best become more cautious and love to imitate it...but older we become, slower we get. That is what happens to turtle perhaps...I think they are cute..

As for me, traditions are nothing but a yip-yapin' of our ancestors. Well, Turtles are slow but it doesn't mean it will bring us slow progress, but it gives us inspiration to be tough and stable like the turtle for the shell means toughness, and its slow movement means stability and tenacity. Be inspired and to your best in life~!!

Hello!
Yes, really nice to have a turtle at home. I remember when I was in elementary we have a turtle pet at home.
I understand your parents are superstitious so I guess you have to understand them..:)
One thing, it's very easy to feed to feed them..

If given the chance to own a turtle for a pet, I would refuse such offer.
Mainly because I find it difficult to take care of a wild animal and I find turtles as species of the wild rather than as pets, they should be free from their natural habitat rather than domesticating them.

We believe things that are important to us, right or wrong the fact that they are important is the prime reason to have these beliefs. As long as what you believe causes no harm to you or others, it's best to leave the belief alone. What may be true is that people who are attracted to turtles want or need a slower pace of life.

Wow..i never heard anything like this one friend. I do not have any pets. But i do love tortoises..
I like the 'slowness' actually, somehow i feel that it says 'think twice before you leap', and stuffs like that..
We all know the rabbit-tortoise story...'slow and steady wins the race' that was such a good lesson to be learnt by all..
As far as life's burden goes, i feel they are all created by ourselves..

I don't have any pet like a turtle. Yes, I heard also people telling to avoid those kinds of pet but its only a superstitious belief. We see our self lucky if we just think positive. They are just pet. they even look cute...

Parents and children will never be exactly alike. Keep it in your room if they do not like it. Having a nice calming pet as a turtle is very easy on the nerves and calms you and eases unnecessary stress in your life and you will be much happier.
