This has apparently been on the internet for some time. However I just received an email about it today. It's too amazing not to share and I thought of sharing with the myLot community first. Even if you don't ordinarily click on links, Please take a look at this one. http://www.gloucestercitynews.net/clearysnotebook/2012/12/went-fishing-caught-4-deer.html

I've read some wonderful 'animal rescue stories' in my time but that's one of the very best I've seen. The deer look so adorable (and a tad surreal) on that boat but I'm so glad those people were there to rescue them from the icy waters. I'm proud to be a part of the human race now, if only for a little while..and thanks for sharing.

I thought so too. The deer must have wandered out on ice and then went through a thin spot. They needed help and got it. So amazing.

I've always wished I had enough money to build an animal shelter (since I was a kid). Still do. Those deer seemed to know that the humans were their only hope. I did so enjoy this story too. Thank you for taking a look.

Oh WOW! I have questions but I guess it's pointless to ask them. What an amazing story and how wonderful. Those poor, dear deer just knew they needed to find help and they did the poor little critters. I'm glad they found that very nice man with his boat.

My main question was what were they doing in the water in the first place. But I don't know the guy so there is no way to ask. Maybe further search would reap some answers. The chief point is that they were rescued though. Hope you are doing well, MsTickle. Thanks for looking in.

Yep, not something that we hear about every day, huh? A few years ago, I had a couple of deer show up in my back yard during late evening. I lived near a golf course/park and they wandered down from there. They just roamed around a bit, left by the back alleyway and went back down to the park. Thanks for looking in.

Hi, bon.....I've been fishing since I got out of high school. When I lived in western Kentucky, I'd go to the lake and fish every day. Once caught a 17# spoonbill cat. I've been hunting before but couldn't kill anything. I'm too soft hearted. I do like to drive around at night and see the night time animals. We would do that in the land between the lakes in Kentucky.

Thank you for sharing it with us!It is really confirmation for my belief where most people in the world are very kind to animals. I seem to see that the four juvenile black-tailed deer were looking beseechingly at rescuers, While I read the article.I can't help thinking but for those kind-hearted people's help, what would become of the deer.

The deer were already exhausted so they wouldn't have survived. I think the guy felt he really had no other choice. I would have felt the same way. Thank you for looking in.

Thank you for sharing, I particularly liked the second picture down in the article when the four of them are huddled together onboard, and safe. It was lovely to hear that they were all saved, it's also nice to hear a story like this which is not all about doom and gloom. I guess those deer will think twice before going for a dip!

I like happy stories too. I'd like to know why the deer were in the water in the first place. Can't believe they just decided to go swimming though. Thanks for responding, wolfie.

Wow. That's an awesome story, and one I obviously had not heard before. I'm so glad you shared it. Makes you wonder how in the world they got out there...and why.

Hi, kenzie....How are you doing? Haven't seen you in ages. Hope all is well. I hadn't seen the deer incident either tho it's apparently been making the rounds for a while. I figured they fell through some ice somewhere but what gave me that idea, I don't know. I just thought it was an amazing story. I'd never seen deer on a boat before. Thanks for coming by.
