when i was in university i have a group of friends. we are very closed. 7 people in our group including me! every semester when the exam is coming they always make a study group. divide the subject for each person. try to find or came out with question and answer it together. and discuss what possible question that will come out. i'll try once to join. but i hate it. haha.. it was so not me. i really cannot focus during the study group. i just intend to make other thing. so the next exam i'll not joining them. even they ask for me. i just cannot. i rather to choose to study by my self not in group. for me in group i just can if they are any assignment. or suddenly discussion about the subject after class. i like when the discussion come out spontaneously, like during lunch or even while waiting for the bus. so? for u? which you prefer? why?

Hi ungu Well I like to study individually as well as in group. When I have enough time, I prefer studying alone according to my own convenience. But if time is very short and I have to study continuously, then I prefer studying in group as I cant concentrate for more than two hours or so.. After that I feel so sleepy. Anyways have a nice day... ~=SuperShames=~

Hi ungu. Well I love to study in group as long as they do not interfere with my way of studying. But if they do I would prefer studying alone instead. However, in case of project submissions I prefer to work in groups. It reduces burden and is time saving. Have a nice day ..

This is so true! Usually when you are with your peers and you think of studying, it will then result in a long conversation/chit-chat rather than a long concentration of study. However, if I am studying with a more mature people, then it is beneficial because I know I can gain knowledge from them. But when I am with young people, then it’s totally a no-no and I prefer studying alone.

I would actually quite welcome the opportunity to be able to study in a group, I didn't get to do this at school and I found I struggled a great deal when I had to study alone, I was not very good at revision and I had low concentration levels. Yet when I went to college it was set out so much differently, we were encouraged to study in a group, we were much more mature and it helped a great deal, if I had had group study at school maybe I would have done so much better in my exams.

Like what you said, group sstudy for me does not make any help. Instead of making me focused on what I am studying, I was much distracted since there are some topics there that I haven't read yet and they keep on asking questions about that topic. Furthermore, instead of reviewing your notes or lessons quitely, you cannot with group study. In my case, when I was reviewing for the board exam on my profession, we where in a room and they are planning to have a group study or group review. I refused to join them because my mind was already occupied and I want to sleep early as preparation for the exam. After the exam, I passed and most of those who joined the group review failed.

I haven't been to a study group, but I'm sure I'd struggle there. I can only focus on my studies if I'm alone and it's really quiet. People would distract me. I'm just not a group learner or revisor.

During my college days, my batch mates are fond of having group study. In my side of view, I didn't try to join them. I preferred to study alone, since I may not maximize learning with them.

I was in a study group at nursing school. It was a small group, we were only 3 people who studied together and we were very close friends. I enjoyed working with them, and we helped eachother and discussed the assignments, but it was not always easy to focus on the work. One of the other girls and I are both very taltative and we often spent too much time talking about other topics. I enjoyed doing the assignments together, but on the other hand I think that I learn more when I study on my own. It is often easier for me to really understand the things that I read when I am on my own. I prefer to be in study group, but I don't want to spend all of my time there. I also need plenty of time to study on my own.

we also have the study groups ,but not the whole semester ,only for one class or one subject. i do not like the group studying too for you may not cooperate well with your parters, or you may have different ideas .if so it will be slower to finish the homework rather than do it by yourelf!

I think joining a study group is just fine if the number of persons involved would not exceed four. With only few members involved, I think it's easy for them to concentrate and focus on what they have to study. But for me I prefer to study alone, so that I can concentrate more.

when alone it easy to concentrate than in group. if in group maybe the time for concentrate is less than study alone

its always quite good to stick with them and share more, because a individual person cant learn much in shortest time, only group sharing will come to the rescue

Study in groups can only be helpful provided that the group is not more than 3 and they are all at same level(all should be average in studies or poor or excellent). All of them grasp things at the same rate, it means they should be nearly compatibele. All this conditions are hardly met and that's why group studies can be sometime disastrous. I never study in a group. During my university exam I want to study alone.

As a good friend it is your duty to lead your friend to the good way and remember that is your duty to make him to understand all you know. If you find group discussion is not effective for you you have to adjust for your good friends. I don't mean that you don't have to look your studies. Make sure that your studies also go well with it.

Hi ungu89, all the while I thought I am the only person in the planet who does not enjoy group study. I am also not a fan of studying together with my friends mainly because I cannot concentrate if I am not on my own. Also, whenever I am with my friends, I would rather have a good time with them than worry about our lessons

i think every people have every ways for learning maybe you should concentrate by your self and you can`t focus if you join study group.. so maybe you should not push yourself for learning by study group

I rather study alone, I do prefer it. I concentrate more when I do my review in my room or outside our garden. I also do review or study in a library. It works best with my research. I don't want to be disturb.
