Ooops! I think I'm guily of this. I sometimes starve myself for no particular reason. I just don't like eating sometimes. I can even go with just one meal a day. I drink lots of water though. If I skip meals I always make sure that my liquid intake is high. I'm not on a diet but I used to be really skinny before. Now, I'm chubby and everytime I remember how thin I was before I tend to skip meals. This isn't good for me but I just can't help myself.

I have starved a lot, but starving does no good it only makes you more and more hungry that is it. I have like starved for whole day, eaten nothing but water and remember that i over ate at dinner time. At times i have starved for 21 days, that was only on water based food and 250 gm of fruit in a day. i had lost 8 kgs but i gained double of it. I left doing that shi!t things now, i eat normal and i don't starve i eat boiled and make me feast myself in weekends.

OUCH! Guilty here! I think it is my last resort for losing weight coz I am too lazy to exercise. I know that it is unhealthy, but it was my way of losing a few pounds.

It's easy.. it has to do with control. If you lost everything, or have the feeling you are not good in anything, controlling your weight is a good start. You start at a certain moment and if it works you go on with it. Since losing weight, knowing you are able to do something, is a compliment and makes you stronger. So you go on. At a certain point you are not able to see clearly anymore. So you do not see if you are starving for a lack of food (you still see yourself fat) or did reach what you want. Also there is the need to keep going on since this is the only thing you are good at! Food is not seen as food but as the enemy. There is no pleasure in eating, it's more a need, most of us do eat too much anyway. Wat the body doesn't need you find in the toilet anyway. Which is a lot.

Don't know. Sometimes I just don't feel hungry. Not that I'm intentionally trying to starve Well there was that one time I wanted to lose a little weight but hey I ate at least one meal a day. Yeah, I know not a great idea. I certainly don't have the same appetite I used to as a kid though.

If you're referring to Anorexia Nervousa... well of course it doesn't make sense to you, it's considered a mental illness. People with mental illnesses don't tend to think rationally.
Usually the motivation behind Anorexia Nervousa is desire to control, obsession with weight and an irrational fear of gaining weight, and most times some levels of Body Dysmorphic Disorder. They see a fun-house mirror image of themselves.

I agree with you. I need to do some dieting so I checked out different kinds of diets. The Mediterranean diet was the best for me because it meant eating more veggies and less fried food, olive oil instead of butter and things like that. But there was no starvation anywhere to be seen. I think that those diets that ask you to eat only eggs or only potatoes are dumb. Magazines are full of those. I`m sure you don`t have to starve to slim down.

sometimes, when i'm working, i have this momentum going that i can't stop.
i love my work very much and i enjoy it. so when i'm working, i always forgot to look at the time and get zoned out. sometimes, my coworkers will be the one who'll pull me out of my workstation just to get something to eat, or a coffee break
