hi there asliah, first of all, let me greet you happy holidays. how was it? anyway, with your topic there, i guess, that consequence of eating too much rice is a belly stomach especially if you can't able to stand up after you have eaten. however, with that, you can still maintain a slim stomach, perhaps, try to do a little sit-up after sometime. and you are right, the month of December is a festive one so many foods have been served in every houses. and it is very difficult to get your diet, isn't it.

Yes, that is very true. Eating lots of rice can gain you a pounds and have a belly for a month. I also had an experience when it was a month vacation and I do lots of eating. I gain 4 kilos for just a month. I eat rice in practical Filipino meals because it is always abundant. But now, I limit some carbs.

We live on rice and it is the main food we have on our dinner table every day. Sometimes we have dumplings and noodles for a change, but rice is still a necessary kind of food. It is considered to be indispensible for us. Right now I am cooking my lunch and it is rice. We eat rice with some dishes. I do not get a belly stomach from eating rice. Have a good day, asliah.

The normal consumption of staple rice is one cup per meal. According to health research, eating rice beyond the normal range can lead to a condition called diabetes. It is a serious condition that we need to consider.

Yes, I love cooked rice. I think I cannot survive without the presence of cooked rice at the table during meal. I am not fond of eating cooked rice during breakfast time because I do not have enough time. I just eat a lot during lunch and dinner. i think it can add also to our belly most especially when we do not stand up immediately after eating because it cannot digest well.

Hi asliah, rice is the staple food for Asian people. Thus it's essential in our daily meals. We take rice as our meals at least twice a day. I feel my stomach is still in hunger if is no rice is served for lunch and dinner Dishes would taste more yummy eating together with boiled rice. I take at least a full bowl of rice in my daily two meals. I have formed such eating habit since childhood. My stomach looks the same even I take more rice than other dishes. I have belly if sitting too long in front of the laptop I think. I believe if taking excessive rice we would gain weight for sure Happy posting

Rice is the main food here. We will have it everyday. However, I am a person who is not so interested in it. When the time I lived alone, usually I would eat something else rather than the rice. But I like eating congee or sushi although they are made of rice.

hi asliah, my wife likes to have more rice when eating. i can always remember her cute character when asking for another bowl of rice. however, she still maintain her slim body although she eats a lot. actually both of us also eat a lot of food on every meal. but both of us are still slim maybe due to our body's high metabolism rate. usually both of us have to order 3 person's portion of food for every meal. sometimes we have to order food for 4-5 person's portion of food. we like to go for buffet meal the most because we can eat as much as we want.

Rice in general, is not my preferred meal. Then again it depends on the kind of rice that we eat. Well polished rice does not contain much nutrition, as i am told. However, any dish or cereal or food if eaten in moderation, should be ok for a healthy living.

That depends on the rice because you have white long rice and brown rice. I personally prefer brown rice as it has better nutrients. As Fit Day.com states white rice is bared of the bran. Rice is naturally brown but when you eat it white it's been processed to the point of being pre-cooked and polished. Doesn't sound very good now, does it? This makes the bare white rice void of most of the nutrients is normally comes with, which is why when you cook it you need to add salt for flavor. What makes you gain weight and then you can't expel is the salt. The more rice you eat, the healthier you will become especially when it's brown because it's rich in manganese, magnesium, zinc, iron and some B vitamins. White rice is lacking in vitamin E, which brown rice has. Both are a good source of fiber so if you are gaining a bit of weight, that is normal. If you can't lose the weight the culprit is most likely the salt you are adding to it because salt retains water in your body.

Rice has been the staple dish in this part of India.Although I am not averse to taking rice, but mostly I take bread. There was a time when I used to eat rice everyday both in my lunch and dinner.I now don't remember when and how I started loving wheat and began taking 'roti' or 'puri.'However even now I sometimes ask my wife to cook rice, and then keep on taking rice for three or four days continuously.

Here in my country rice is part of our daily food. It has been like that ever since I came here. But I try as much as I can, to consume very little rice as it is not healthy to some extent. I eat rice because I have got gas problem and therefore I need it to prevent myself from getting gas problems.

When I lived in Hawaii for a year I really love to eat rice. Its a staple there like mashed potatoes is on the mainland. We bought a rice cooker and had it twice a day. I know that rice is a starch and it turns into sugar but when you spend all day at the beach you need lots of energy. We would eat it with chicken or fish so that it wasn't so heavy. I love rice and before I moved to Hawaii I never knew that it came in 50 lb. bags.

I live in Malaysia. As such, being Asian I eat rice everyday. Rice is the staple food for Asians. At times, my family and I eat out and we eat western food with no rice at all, all meat. My wife will order a small bowl of rice to be shared among us. When we go home my mother-in-law will ask us, "Do you all eat rice?" So, we answer in unison, " Yes, mother." We do not tell lies. We in fact eat rice but less rice.

I tried to do some fasting before and I just skip the rice and still eats bread and the main dishes. Surprisingly, I lost a lot of body fats around the belly and the buttocks. I did not know it was all brought by rice. So now to avoid getting fat, I limit my intake of rice and enjoy other food.

I am a rice eater I honestly admit that though it might be shameful to others. I like that my "ulam/vian/dish/partner with rice thing whatever you call that is almost the exact amount of my rice. It's weird I know but I like it to be that way. I would rather actually that my rice partner is more that the rice itself, I'm more satisfied with that than the other way around. Although I have friends that are like you, they would rather have less dish than less rice. Some people say it's the rice that makes your belly big but I don't think it really is. It's probably the amount of food you in take and no work out that makes your belly go big.

I eat more rice too because rice is cheaper than viands and when you're hungry you'll hav to eat a lot and having more rice does the trick. But since rice is a carbohydrate, it will contribute to fatties and bigger belly, nonetheless if you're able to exercise and burn the fat away, it shouldn't be much of a problem.
