Friends do you think that reality shows are real or scripted? we get carried away with these shows, sometimes catch fights between friends and family members. We start supporting different reality show characters, but is it worth? What if it scripted? we vote them , we wish them luck etc... I would like to know if someone knows the fact, please share.

I don't see the point in watching other people's problems, fights and arguments. Anything on TV has probably been edited and screened. So, if it is on TV, then it is no longer 'real life'. I prefer talking to people in 'real life' and being able to meet someone in 'real life' to say to them personally, 'I wish you all the best in life'.

The Big Brother franchise here in the Philippines is definitely scripted. They try to get pairs to spice up the show. I haven't seen the reality shows involving the Kardashians and another with the Osbournes. The only reality show I am so fond of is Survivor. When they do reward or immunity challenge you can identify that the game is won by pure effort and there's less probability to predict a million dollar winner in the first few episodes.

hi wish, i doubt if these reality shows are real. often the stories were so hyped up they are not even close to the really happenings in the participant's life. Locally, most of these were somewhat true, but with additions, of dramas, and scripts, of challenges to provoke emotions and so people would watch out for them.

I think reality shows are real (not sure with other shows). Here in our country these reality shows become popular- by popular demand. I have watched a few episodes and I can say that it's not scripted, maybe the questions are pre-written as guidelines for the hosts, but those people involved are not aware of the next questions being asked. We can tell from the way they act and expression that it's indeed a real one.

there are many situations in reality shows that are suspiciously real, by that i mean perhaps unscripted but i am sure the situations are staged or intentionally created to make the TV show more eventful, if nothing ever happens, nobodys gonna want to watch the show , boring..no drama boring show..no audience, so simple a conclusion.. so producers may have to think up situations and actually make them happen in real live in the show..unscripted but staged nonetheless....i am sure somehow that many situaations by reality show talents were instructed to behave this way or that,or react the same just to get good ratings because of the drama. in fact i m willing to bet on it..so i would say, reality shows are really half real, half staged no scripts..just instructions on how to behave not act..

It is real in a sense that there is no script that the actors in there are reading that needs to be memorized. However, knowing that the show is very much influenced by the director and persons behind the show would really make the show beautiful can be bit annoying because the scenes are exaggerated.

What is important is to know whether it provides entertainment. If it does who bothers about what goes on behind the scene. I enjoy watching those shows and I also feel that ordinary people get an opportunity to show case their talent and even if they do not win there are set ups who contact them and rope them in their programmes.

I do think that it is not all 100% real. Coz I feel that at some point the family could be conscious with the things that they do and they either try to refine their actions or do things that they think would increase their ratings.

The thing is wholly scripted but no memorized lines. Producers just 'guide' the people to do what they supposed to do and 'recommend' things to make the show more appealing to the public. Not everything is scripted but there are hands to make it less real. Reality shows are guided and not spontaneous and producers usually highly and make the show more dramatic than real life. The drama is the only thing that make it bearable and appealing to the public. Even in competitions, producers usually highlight a contestant to make the public thing that the person would be the winner Usually they focus too much on the person compared to others. Even the audition is scripted.

Hi, I also ask this question to myself everytime I watch a reality show. I think that most of it is real but there are some shots that are edited and scripted.

I think raelity show is more like fifty fifty, some are fake, some are real.ussually the tv program ask the player to make fake reaction,it is for making the show more interesting so their rating always high.

there is no such thing as a real reality show but the sad thing is that most people think it is. no matter how or what a reality tv show is, there is always a script being followed if not pushed by the director. don't you ever wonder why such shows are almost always able to catch such interesting segments like fighting between contestants or drama or whatnot? it is all a marketing ploy. and yes, I used to work for a production company doing a well-known so-called reality TV show.

As far as Reality shows, I feel they are exaggerated at times. But over all some of them are ok. I think that some of them are script. Maybe that is what makes some of the worth watching. Im not a fan of those programmings but I do catch a glimps of them from time to time, and some of them dont look that bad. As far as the fighting, I think some of them are staged for entertainment and rating purposes.

Hi friend, I live in the Philippines, and here we have lots of reality shows that even lasted for almost how many decades already. I think those shows were real because almost all of their segments gives help to some of our people. It gives lots of money, it also give happiness. If you have Filipino channel there, you can watch Eat Bulaga!! here you will experience lots of laugh and cry. Even Indonesia had there own Eat bulaga reality shows. Check it out and see!!!

Most of them, I think, are scripted. Especially the pre-shot ones, such as the Hills/Laguna Beach/Kardashian whatever types. They are all for publicity stunts. As for "12 strangers live together" type of reality shows, I'm not that sure. But sometimes stuff happen which makes me question their authenticity, like a magical 49-51% result in an elimination show not once and not twice...

I think some are exaggerated to have a kick on the story. I don't really watch reality shows. However, at times I have a glimpsed on them if the casting is my favorite actors and actresses. :-)

Maybe some reality shows do have a scripts., because some scenes will make you wonder that is it really happenning.. shows will do anything to have a high ratings so can we blame them for doing so,, when their ratings is high they also earned a lot..

I think they are real, but there is always a possibility that they are not. There are lots of talented and good actors around, so it's hard to say.

Real life is boring, I know cause nothing as interesting as reality shows happen in my life. Well if my life were as interesting as reality shows, heck, I wouldn't even be watching tv. So, I wouldn't believe them if they say they're not scripted cause you see who would want to watch something so normal. And if they want viewers, they are going to have to go overboard with normal. Normal is boring. No one wants normal.
