When You First Had Internet

When you first got internet at home do you recall what kind of things you remember doing first? For me it was learning how to do this email thing we all know and love. Then it was chatting with my Calif friend as he was one of the biggest influences of getting online. I also wanted to sell things on eBay but at the time they wanted a credit card # and I remember not having one yet then. I got one and finally was able to use Paypal and everything to get payments. I was happy to make some $ and then when my dad seen it he tried to do it too. Only I had to take the pictures and set the auctions up, argh. Then I remember using freebie sites and getting a ton of those sent to my home. Plus there were the games and the joke sites. I subscribed to some recipe newsletters and joke sites. I remember getting one of my first trojans from an email joke site. I was getting tons of emails from the site and it turned out to be a trojan. :(

When I first got internet, I found out about AOL and loved it. I pretty much spent all my time in chat rooms and found that it taught me how to type faster and more accurately. I already knew the basics about the internet but I got better at searching for different things, meeting people and making friends, and then I learned about making money on the internet..I got my first virus about five years ago and learned not to trust everything that was sent to me..

I didn't have AOL the first time I had it but did afterward a few times, as dial up was first for me for many years. It was awful. I was actually afraid to get dsl though, and when I finally got used to it it was OK. Chat rooms were great back then weren't they? Viruses were not, they became more and more nastier it seems.

I totally forgot about dial-up...that sound used to make my head hurt..DSL was the best thing that happened to me back then..back then, chat rooms weren't full of creepy people and it was about making friends unlike today..

Oh, I do! I was 12, so it's no wonder I was using the Internet mostly for stuff like an online cartoon camel raising site :D. I loved it, but some jerk stole my pretty little camel once :(. I don't even know why, I didn't even give out the password to anyone, and it wasn't a really easy one. I also was using it for e-mailing, online teen mags and quiz sites, too.

Wowwee, 12? Yea I know some people have gotten an early start on that kind of thing due to when you were born. I'm sorry that someone stole your camel via that cartoon site. That is just silly. People can be mean in so many ways just for the sake of meaness.

Facebook wasn't around yet when I first started out online either, who'd have guessed someone else would have invented it before me and got to rich on it too? I didn't know either how to create an email acct, luckily I found one techie guy who helped me with it and getting online itself. The first day of the computer getting online though my ISP went down and I thought it was just somethng wrong with the computer, etc. I didn't even now that ISP could be "down", so that was the first experience I had with it. Then the next day it was fine, thank goodness.

I firstly introduced the internet at 2002 when there was a modem connection of 56k. Very strange, that was the time of floppies ut now technology is growing day by day. Internet development has changed the life.

The first time I used internet was around 1999. I created my very first email id in Yahoo. It was so exciting! I remember composing long emails, as if I were writing a real letter. Of course that was because I was used to letter writing at school. Another thing that excited me very much at that time was chatting. I would enter a chatroom and pick up a chat with a perfect stranger, with nothing more than his/her username to go on. Gradually I started reading online news and articles too. Fortunately I didn't face any virus attacks, so my entry to the world wide web was more or less a smooth one.

Well, my first real internet experience once I owned something was Webtv. These were portable and good way to keep connected to others. They were limited with some of the stuff you could do but nice. They were harder though once I started having sites I was earning money from especially trying to promote the sites. Did a lot of emailing, and chatting on talk city and doing yahoo groups, eBay etc.

I remember not being very interested. My mom was the first one to use it really. She tried to get me to go online and look around. The very first website I went to was tide.com. I'm not even kidding. I couldn't think of any webiste, and back then it's not like TV commericals were spouting websites for us to visit.

The internet was available at my home quite early. At that time it was in 1997 and we just used 32K modem. Later we changed it to 56K modem. The internet fee is quite expensive at that time because besides the internet charge, you also had to pay for the telephone bill. In fact I just updated to use ADSL several years ago.

I was young when I started online, so I use to chat with friends, and all that. I then set up a webpage for an older friend I met on a chat line. I got into freebies a few years ago, when I was out of work, I got bored so I started with them. I was part of a few constant freebie forums, which is how I got to know this site. I got out of freebies, and coupons when I was on nights, then slowly trying tog et back iinto them to save more money.

I was in my twenties when I got my first internet connection. Most of the time I simply used the internet to find information about things that I was interested in or things that were related to my education. I studied nursing and before our anatomy test I found some interactive anatomy sites on the internet where I could practice the names of the different parts of the body. I spent a lot of time on those sites and it was a fun way to learn. I also exchanged emails with some friends and sometimes I chatted with other people. Today I use the internet in many other ways, but at that time it was mostly a source of information.

Honestly, it was so long ago when I first got the internet, that I can't remember what i did. I thik though I was so happy to have it, that I had to check everything out, and see what it was all about.Of course once i leaned about email and things, then I would check that everyday. Things have really changed on the internet since I first started. There is a lot more to it , and lots more sites than back then, so really what anyone can do on the internet is limitless. I do remember playing games on the gaming sites, but I don't do that anymore.I know I wuld be lost without the internet and my laptop as well. Take care, and have a good day.

When I had my first internet, I take the chance of how I will going to start a hobby out of it. What sites or activities I will engage into. Then I found mylot as one of the best sites.
