If you stuck in an island with no fresh water, how are you going to survive. Water is very important in our body, approximately 95% water is needed. Have you ever thought of this? There is no falls or river in an island. It is surrounded by sea water. What will you do?

Fire will be very inportant if you are surrounded by water, if you can build a fire to boil the salt water and collect the condensation from the steam then it can be drunk and the salt content is mostly removed , so in a deserted island , if you can build a fire you can survive easily, island surrounded by food sources easily available, not only fishing but clams oysters even seaweed plus what can be found in the island . so surviving depends on the ability to build a fire which will be the most important things .3 days without water and many human bodies will just shut down, salt water makes it worst by dehydrating the body so distilling and removing salt content in sea water can be done by just boiling it,principle behind the mega water recyling plants in many countries.

For me, he first thing that I'm gonna do is to look for plants that are safe to eat. Go inside the forest then look for something to eat there. These plants have water in them already so it will help in the water needs of the body.
One more option is to make a hole in the sea shore and wait that water will be accumulated there. Sand is will help clean the water. Haha
Never experienced this but I think this will work.

If I didn't have something that could catch rain water, I would try to find something or make something. I would also try to lick up as much morning dew as possible. Another thing I might do is follow insects that may be on the island. They could lead me to fresh water.

The first thing I would do is pray to God to get me safely off the island and until then, please send rain.

yes you are correct, usually if we say it is an island there is possibility that there is no fresh water in it. but it still depends on how big that island is of course. if there are primates living in that island well for sure there is fresh water. some rocks hold water when it rains but i doubt it's cleanliness because some animals may drink from it too.it is hard to find water to drink. the Philippines is made up of 7107 islands, and i have been to island hopping here, it is really hard to find drinking water in small islands, and in some there is basically none, people have to go to other islands to find water. if by luck anybody got stock in an island with available water to drink he can be sure he will be found and rescued, because people knew water is available and they surely will visit the place to drink or take a rest from fishing journeys or from storms.

It is hard to imagine if life is without fresh water. But if I stuck in an island,I would search for fruit as water.Because there's plenty of water in fruits. And I would use the sea water to wash my hands or face.

Actually, i can survive on island since i have seen Tom Hank's Oscar award winner movie "Cast Away"...Lolz. i suggest you watch this movie too. Tom hanks uses coconut water which he snatched from the nearby trees and he hunts fishes to eat. but i guess one would know how to light a fire in order to cook something. i don't think drinking would be too much problem.

I used to live in the Dominican Rep, which is half of an island in the Caribbean. Although there was fresh water there and there were waterfalls, what the island lacked was tap water and hours and even days would go past when one had no access to tap water or water to flash the toilet! On one of my birthdays there I had to choose between using the water or flashing the toilet and the toilet won! Maybe that was one of the reasons that pushed me to moving away from the place, with sorrow.

There are desalination techniques to help convert salt water to fresh. I would use one of those methods to create fresh water. I'd also make sure that I captured as much fresh water from the sky that is possible.

Well there is one that could help you survive, coconut tree. This could provide you with an alternative fresh water. But of course if there is none then I guess you cannot really survive that long and hope that it rains so you can somehow get some fresh rainwater.

If the island has vegetation then there will be water source, even deserts have an oasis or cactus or animal life which can provide source of food and water. It is just a matter of time before you find it, we just need to be positive minded.
Before locating that, we will probably need to stock up and build up. Stock up on fruits like coconuts, bananas, berries which is source of food and water. At the same time, set up traps to catch some animal life like snakes, monitor lizards or mouse. Now, this may sound gross but animal blood is an alternative source of water when the situation calls for.
At the same time, we will need to make receptacles to collect rainwater or water from streams or ponds. If the distance is not too far, we may tap from the source using hollowed out bamboos or some pipes salvaged from a wreckage.

You have to find a way to boil the water so you can drink it or wait until it rains and hope you have something to catch and store it in.
