at last, I'm done with the writing--did I charge too much?

You remember I was talking about this writing task which I accepted and it's about the production and differentiation of erythrocytes. Well, thanks to google, I was finally able to come up with the required 3 pages. Naturally, this is a very technical subject so much of what came out was borrowed. Oh boy. I felt like my head was bleeding while I was doing the essay. It was a nightmare of a topic because you just can't veer away from the strange scientific names. It was like eating something without tasting it. And for all the anxiety, I charged them something like $35. Is that a fair amount? Or am I overcharging?

glad you are done. Id say 35.00 was a cheap price for what you did. But sometimes when you are cheaper, it turns out they come back for more. And Im sure you can use the work. Take care there.

That is so true, if you outprice yourself, then they won't ask you again, but by charging a modest amount they will.

Oh, so $35 is fair. Thanks Maria and Wolfie for your responses.

If that is you beginning price, no problem at all. You are fair in charging to someone. It will also help them or encourage to give more jobs for you.

I'm not really sure because I can't even pronounce what you were writing about or even pretend to know! Sounds very technical and seeing it was "3" pages I would have to ask you how many words were involved in this? That's where I think maybe you might have not charged enough.

I was wondering about the number of words because she said 2,500 and 3 pages, single-spaced. When I reached the 3rd page, it was only something like 1, 500 so I stopped there.

If it was honestly done and makes coherent reading then I'd say say it was worth every penny and probably more.

Congratulations on getting it finished, I know how it feels finishing up a long project. It's so nice to get some free time once you're done. I think for the subject matter, $35 was a little cheap, you could have gotten twice that. But, sometimes it helps to do some projects at cheap prices. It helps you get your skills up, and get your name out there.

There was a little bargaining, so I had to lower the price, but it's okay since she's a friend of mine.

Congratulations! Well, that is just fair because you still have to go to a doctor for a check up because of the bleeding, he he. Well, you can open a negotiation, that's the best thing you can do. So that you will go for a win-win solution. I hope I can also start with that kind of job as yours. Have a nice day!

Hi Aries! Better get started with it. You need only to have some contacts in schools. Schools give these students crazy projects and students need some help. That's where you can get money.

Now that is something which would fill me with dread, I remember the time when I was at college and I had to put together a thesis and you had to use so many words, it was a nightmare, researching, using info from books and acknowledging it and that was for no payment! Then there was this other time because I can touch type this guy wanted me to help him type up his notes for publication and they had to be done with strict guidelines, it was tedious work, and I hated it, but it paid well, I didn't dictate the price they did, so I suspect $35 is a good payment and fair under the circumstance.

Thanks Wolfie, I usually just give the price.
