Hello there fellow myLotters!
I love taking pictures. I have no training or experience in taking, some professional photographers may call me a point and shoot person. I don't edit my shots and I like taking still shots in terms of persons. Though I don't have a digital camera now, I use my cell phone to take pictures of EVERYTHING that I fancy. Be it an object, place or signage that I pass by and events, I took pictures all of it. I usually upload most of my pictures in my facebook account. I was even the one of the first to upload it unlike my sisters who have their own gadgets like digi cam and laptop.
Do you guys love taking pictures too? Where do you store/keep it? I made a folder in my computer and it is where I save my shots.

I've always liked taking pictures since I was a young girl and had the opportunity to take trips with my school on a pretty regular basis. This has been something that has grown for me over the last several years because of the fact that I've got children now and I don't want to miss out on anything when it comes to my kiddos.
I am lucky enough to have a professional grade digital camera that I use most of the time. I do also have a point and shoot that I like to carry in my purse so that I never miss anything.
I really don't like to use the camera on my phone because I feel that it really doesn't have a good quality.

Yeah, most cellphone cameras don't have good qualities (except for high grade smart phones). My cellphone camera isn't that good too but that don't stop me from taking pictures.
I am looking forward to a digital camera that will be given to me by a cousin from another country in exchange of a cross stitch that I am making for her.

me. too i love taking pictures specially if it is my first time to see the place or to see the subject (whatever). I had it stored in FB, some for show some just for storage. AFter the typhoon Ondoy, when most of our memorable photographs were destroyed I started digitizing our photographs by scanning them one by one and storing them either to Picassa. it is safer that way just don't forget the password or username lol.

Have you seen the movie "the Fog" scary.. one.

I rarely take photos anymore, but I have several albums full from my previous lives.
Why didn't you post one of your photos with this discussion? You do get paid for that, you know.

They still count it as participation, they just don't put it in a separate column on your earnings page anymore.

My son got my usb cable again which I used to connect from my cell phone to our computer. My kids are so neglectful with their things and when they need something, they get my things! I really don't like it when anybody touches my things..

I enjoy taking pictures as well. I take pictures of everything from people to flowers and animals. I like natural pictures the best (ones that the kids are not posing for) it's hard to capture them naturally when all they want to do is pose. You might be interested in the website called Gather. It's an awesome site and you can share some of the pictures you take there. It's a great way to share some of your work. The members are all pretty nice too. If you decide to go there, look me up. My username there is tropica.

Thanks for sharing the site Arieles. Can you send me through PM your link to that website? I will surely sign up. I didn't know that there is a website/community for photography enthusiast.
But, since my cell phone camera isn't that good, sometimes, I am shy to share it with others. I like taking photos of people who don't pose too. Is that called still shots? I am not so sure.

The site says "Gather has suspended new user registrations until further notice." I am sorry I can't resister there at the moment and I can't see your pictures too.

Why don't you invest and get a better camera? These days there are still some small good ones out there that don't have interchangable lenses. I am a professional photographer, well I've sold some work so I guess I'm a pro now I love taking pictures of animals mainly and I've done some landscape, people and travel photography as well. I love it

Wow! A famous photographer!!! Good to hear from you. Thanks for your response.
I used to have a digital camera. I really love it. It is easy to use. But it was stolen for me. But that didn't stop me from taking pictures even in my not so good cell phone camera.
I wish I could have a budget for a digi cam. But it is January now and there are lots of things to be settled at the start of the year for our buiness like business permits, etc..

I am wishing to have a new digi cam too! I am finishing a cross stitch pattern for my cousin who will arrive on March from abroad. We agreed that in exchange of cross stitch, she will give me a digi cam! I am looking forward to it already! That is why I double time cross stitching to finish it.

I love taking pictures of sorroundings, natures, animals, except myslef.
Specially with sun, sky and moon..how I love them.
If you have a digital cam, for sure you will enjoy taking pictures more. There many options in digital cam for your pic to have a better quality without editing. Choosing angles of how or where to shoot your subject will help you to have a better picture.

I used to have a digicam and it was stolen by my day cleaner lady. :( She admitted it and she is paying me thru her services. I really miss my digicam! It is easier to take photos there.
Thanks for your response and Happy Lottings!

Yeah, there are many cheap gadgets nowadays. But that digi cam is special because it is hard earned by me and it is expensive because of the brand. Anyway, I am starting cross stitching now for a cousin and she promised to give me a cam in exchange of what I will do for her

Even from a child I loved taking pictures and I accrued loads of photo albums, trouble is they get bulky and when you have moved as much as I have, you learn to cut down on what you keep, so most of my photos I threw away, I kept a few which meant a lot to me. Then I moved on to digital pictures which I downloaded onto my computer. Then one day my computer packed up and I lost all my photos, I hadn't backed them up, stupidly! I can't remember the last time I took a picture by a normal camera or a digital one to be honest.

I hope you had red the response of the others here that there is a website that can hold our pictures. I really don't know about it until the others had suggested it here. It has been ages too since I had taken picture in a digital camera. What I have now is my cell phone camera.

first of all i want to clear things out to the rest of people out there that it doesn't mater if your using a slr, a point and shoot or a cellphone (there is iphoneography now) the only thing that matters is the output. when handling a camera there is always two roads that you can choose a snapper or a photographer. so what is the difference between the two? snappers are people that take a photograph with out composing a shot, meaning they just shoot with out a direction. photographers are people that compose an image, think about aesthetics and turn ever shot into a master piece.
the thing about editing is that you have all the options in your own hands. please be reminded that old film photographs are edited to (?). you'd think i lied right? nope that is why there is the dark room for. they process the film they can even do double exposures if they want to. yes as early as 1800's HDR is already existed.

Very well said grace. Nothing stops me to take pictures. My cell phone is not a smart phone but still, I took pictures with it.
Yeah, I know that old pictures are edited. What I am saying is nowadays, we don't need to develop our pictures and we can see them right away unlike before.

Thanks for sharing
I started photography in 1958 with a Kodak box camera, we had 620 size black and white films that gave 8 exposures of 4 inch by 2 inch, this you have to get printed and enlarged in studios, my next was Agfa, bellow type, it used 120 size films that gives 12 negatives, black and white, i had my own enlarger and printer in home.
Color films came later, these gave 35 mm negatives, we got them enlarged in studios, i have 3 camera that used these 35mm films
Next came the digital, i have 6 of them, the last one is 20 mega pixel with 35 x optical xoom, i bought last week here./

I too love taking pictures. I use my smartphone a lot. In fact I just had to download to my computer so I can put them over to Shutterfly so I can take more LOL
I do have a SD card, but still like to free up my phone to keep it running at peek performance.
I notice I take more animal and craft pictures than anything. I have to put some discussions on here with pictures so my friends can see what is going on with me. I also try to do a bi-monthly or monthly update of my cross stitch piece here as some like to see what I am into doing.
you should share some of your pictures in discussions. I would love to see what you are taking pictures of.

I love taking pictures since I am into photography most especially portrait and concept photography… After taking pictures from my camera, I usually upload it to my account on photo sharing sites because it does add bulk in the memory of my computer. So, putting it online is one way saving my storage.

a pleasant day bluespygirl,
taking pictures is my sort of relaxation as i do love photography. hence i always make it a point that i capture almost all of the things that i always encounter including those simple things that you can see on the streets. plus those foods that i used to eat the first time. with my photographs, i usually stores them in a gallery then use them as my subject in every article that i used to write down.

I also love taking pictures but with my digicam, I am not satisfied with the results so I don't use it often. I would like to have a DSLR so that I could take good pictures for the site I am planning to put up which would be about the tourist spots in our place.
Have a nice day!

Having no digi cam at the moment doesn't stop me from taking pictures anywhere. It is hard taking pictures at a cell phone and my cell phone camera isn't that good. But still, I take pictures.
Having a DSLR is far from my list. Point and shoot digi cam is fine for me. It is more attainable to buy at the mean time.
Happy Lottings!

You are indeed so-called picture lover. Some people called it picture addict or whatever they may called it otherwise. Well. I also loved taking pictures too but limited only to those beautiful spots, when I have a travel i used to take pictures those places that seemed unfamiliar to me where the ambiance look great in views. Souvenir it may consider, but postings the same in the public profile like on my Facebook it needs first a proper evaluation of such pictures. I only shared publicly those views i captured like tourist spots, valley views, peak of mountains that has foggy environment and those unfamiliar places that makes my friends interested to looked at too...The remaining pictures, i usually saved it to my folder on my lappy.

Good thing that there is digital photography now that we can view our shots in our computers without having it to develop from film to paper.
I am really a picture lover! But I do seldom took a picture of myself. I am not just comfortable taking photos of me and people who pose for me. I don't pose all my shots in facebook but if I went to a new place or if I'm in a event, I usually make an album and post my shots right away.
