I was just reading a story on yahoo about this cat that was lost of vacation finding her way home . She traveled 190 miles all alone and she is an house cat they say . The story really touch my heart to know she made it home , normally cats are not that good with direction . She was tired , hungry and boney when somebody see her, they feed her and call her owners who were only a mile away .

Well, it is good news knowing that this cat was able to return home, traveling even 190 miles. Above all, the good news is that when it came back, they have favorably to by feeding so that it has managed to survive. However, is not the first time I've heard of lost pets for miles and miles and returned alone to the homes of their masters.

Yes it was really good news , I was happy for the cat and the family . I have heard of dogs finding their way home through smell and good sense of direction but I have never heard of cat finding their way home from such far distance so I was shocked.

Yes you are right! Normally, cats can go home to their exact owner or residence if they travel only few meters or about kilometers away from home but if we talk about miles, that's awesome cat I ever known. The owner should reward the cat and consider a hero.

That cat was like an army have a mission to reached home without any compass and map to guide on the way home. I think he remember the location by means of smell

Hi Its really amazing. The cat might be very much attached to the owners. Hope the cat is fine. I never heard about a cat travelling so far. But know similar story about a dog. One of my friend left the dog away from their house as they don't want it.But the dog came back to their house after six months. The sad part is they it for few months and left it again. poor one. i hate such people.

I always marvel at these stories, as well. Yet people say animals are stupid and selfish... no, they are clever, and they insist on their companions and families. It's just so heartwarming, how resilient they are...

I feel similar when I come across these stories . I dont know why people think animals are stupid , they may not be able to talk like us but they are smart and they have a lot of compassion . Have a nice day

Wow! I've only heard of dogs doing this. I knew cats were amazing, but that is a shock to me. That makes me want cats even more than before. Did it say how old the cat was?

Most of the time, I really do think that animals are a lot more intelligent than we give them credit for. I mean I know that the vast majority of us that have pets keep them in our homes solely for companionship. However, there are a lot of pets that are kept for medical assistance reasons and there are even a lot of animals now that are being trained to be comfort animals as well. I do love to hear a story like this though, where the animal is somehow able to find his/her way home.

Poor cat. Thank to the person that adopted her. I remember a stray dog went inside our gate and she looked hungry and tired as well. My mother adopted her and she stayed with us until her old age. We love this dear dog with hairy body and her color is white. I missed that dog too.

I feel so sorry for her , I can only imagine how frighten she was , the person that saw her see a flyer so the feed her and then call the owners. Your family did a good thing for that dog, the first cat I had I found in bush while playing , he was tangled and crying and I take him home and he never leave either.
