Pomegranates 5 lbs for 3.00.
Its a big bag.
Real red ones.
Very messy to eat.
I know how to make a punch out of them.
So with 20-30 of them, what else can this gal do with them.
I need some help here........

LOL! I thought you had it all figured out. My 22 year old tried them recently for the first time. Someone had given him some at work. Well he is all gung ho to try some new recipes with them. I told him that he had to be patient when trying to get them out of their shell. He had no idea what kind of a job that was. He decided that he would buy them already out of the shell. LOL!

Buying so much of pomegranate is too much because I do not know about others but I can not eat much of it. Not because of taste, I like its taste but because after having couple of spoons of its seeds I can not eat more of them but you can try this recipe.. it is called Anar Raita
Method
Beat curd. Add salt & sugar & mix well.
To this add boiled potato dices & pomegranate seeds.
Add green chillies & mix well.
Add a pinch of chaat masala & mix.
Serve in a glass bowl, garnished with finely chopped coriander leaves & chaat powder.
Note:
Do not make this & keep for long, you make keep all ingredients ready & mix the raita just before serving.

Aren't pomgranates what the call superfoods?
Why have a handful of foods in the UK that that we refer to as superfoods because the are high in Vitamins, Anti toxins and minerals.
I have no idea what you can do with them Maria - We get the fruit in the shops around September and buy them not knowing what to do with them....
Usually spend hours picking the juicy parts out with a pin

It can be used as a natural dye - Found that out watching those boring documentaries I like so much
Considering how chilly it is there this morning - What about a nice hot drink. I would imagine warm pomegranate juice is very nice actually

My father absolutely loves pomegranates, mum doesn't buy them for him because he makes such a mess with them and he's too lazy to go out and buy some for himself. I don't like them, but I do like the juice, apparently pomegranate juice is very good for you. If I had that many I'd make them into juice for sure.

You might try trading some of the fruit for other items with your neighbors. I like to trade produce for other produce. This way you could have other items to eat.

That is an amazing price, I wish, I could find a deal like that in the US. Fruit of every kind is high priced here. Why don't you use them to make jelly.

How about baking with them, puree them in the blender, and strain them to remove the seeds. But using the juice in bread, puddings, or something similar would be delicious. If they didn't costs so much here, I would buy more. I bought 2 on sale at $1.27 each.
