Coordinated robberies and unexplained killings -- smells like election year!

Anyone notice how, every time it's an election year, unexplained and/or "random" killings, coordinated robberies, and sometimes, even an increase in kidnappings happen?
I noticed this during two past elections (can't quite recall the specific dates though: one of them is probably 2004) and now it's happening again. There's always some "misunderstanding" that lead to someone in power getting killed. If it's not someone in power, the reason stated is always because those people are connected to a syndicate or they were suspected of being a criminal or they were... etc., etc., even though witnesses and family members indicate otherwise.
Then coordinated robberies spike up too. Before, I remember that during one election year, several banks were looted several days of each other. During the holiday season, there are also more robberies than normal because, well, it's the holidays and people are often wealthier AND want more money. But it's already January and there are still reports of robberies that happen in less than 10 minutes.
Have you ever noticed a spike in these occurrences during election year? I know our country's not the safest place in the world, but it never helps when an election is around the corner. I guess whenever money's needed, it's just so much easier to resort to unlawful means.

^ It's normal for any country julyteen (or at least, for a lot more countries than are obvious at first glance) because politics, politicians, and the way they fight for a public position are dirty everywhere. It just so happens that I live here so that's what I'm commenting on, haha.
Even Miriam Defensor's issue with Enrile that's overrunning our news right now isn't so much because she thinks it's wrong for a Senate President to segregate public funds; it's more because she's one of the few who got the short end of the stick. If she got the millions rather than the several hundred thousand of pesos, do you think she'll complain about it? This segregation of public funds have always happened so the fact that the news is being so focused on it is mostly politics, in my opinion.

yep, that's election year for you several things have happened already that is a little "out of whack" like governor's being suspended, accidental deaths in airplanes, policemen getting killed and that's just the things that we know about. who knows what else happens under the radar.

Yep, it's the election season alright. More killings, kidnappings, robberies, etc happen during this grim season. It's all for power and money. People nowadays are greedier than before. Well, all of us will stand in front of our Creator when we die. Do you think they can bribe Him with all the wealth they've amassed?

I noticed this too... not only during the past two elections... but crimes like these occur for frequently every time election is near... candidates need money for their expensive campaign... and criminals need more money to give to candidates... so where would they get this huge amount... of course from illegal activities... like bank and pawnshop robberies... and killing the competition (STL and Jueteng)...
Problem with our law enforcement is that most of them are involve... so what can we do... literally nothing but pray that we the ordinary citizens do not get caught in one of these illegal activities...

I can see that coming when election season comes. Some politicians make sure that they will be elected to the coveted positions. They will do anything even if it will destroy their opponent. It is really disappointing. I hope things will change for the better.

Correct! and instead of being a good example-it only shows that they belong in criminal minds through such actions. People are not afraid to commit crimes since the security of the society is not that reliable some are paid and only few would only stand out for rightful actions, BiG Lack from coordination of each department and strong uphold of Laws- there's always money involve to move and work things out. tsk tsk sad truth

Yeah I guess that has been observed by some reporters that observed this trend that when election time is near the crime or robbery incidents increases. They theorize that it could be that politicians who are in need for more money are the ones organizing these to be able to have extra cash for their campaign sorties. But so far no concrete evidence has been proven to really connect this to any politicians that is involved with these crimes.

Yes, it is obvious that when election time is nearing , there are a lot of crimes related to it.
Specially for people who are running on the same positions, one or two would always have a way to beat the other, that is to let him/her be killed.
Sad, that some people would really resort to this. It goes to say, politics is indeed so dirty.
